Practice relentlessly. I find preparation being a huge key in alleviating nervousness when it comes to public speaking.

I haven't led a seminar, but I've had to be an instructor for department onboarding in the corporate world.

Go in with a plan and you'll be less susceptible to falling prey to nerves.

I recommend perhaps practicing with a friend who has some free time.

it's a book we're reading on intelligence agencies

im not worried about the material but more so how to guide a discussion...idk im just lost

Master the art of open-ended questions.

Knowing how to ask them and how to respond to them will be invaluable after college as well.

I had to lead a socratic seminar for a final in my philosophy class, ive found what help me the most is preparing an argument for every side to the argument with facts to back it up. Then writing up provoking questions to continue on the conversation. Also asksing questions to people who havent spoken to make sure everyone talks.

I never talked in that clas either and it was really hard for me. But i managed to get a B on it, so you should be fine.

They should've given you some instructions, right?

Maybe make a list of discussion points and questions you might frame the discussions around?

Also be prepared to be a bit flexible since the discussions might take more/less time than expected.
