Xiumin Xiumin Ko Ko Baek 943 Posted November 11, 2017 Share Posted November 11, 2017 "I'm so pissed rn because this show is supposed to give failed idols second chance but instead of giving the screentime to failed idols they give it to cute rookies and trainees" I definitely agree with you here, but if I may give my honest opinion (plz dont take offense this is just what I took away from this performance and maybe the audience or whoever might have also gotten the same feeling idk, I also have no knowledge about these girls whatsoever so I am just speaking from what I see from this single performance) When I came into this thread and saw the thumbnail I was 100% on board with you, the thumbnail looked badass and the girls were beautiful, but as I started watching my view started to shirft.. In my opinion: I do feel like their stage was a bit lacking of the "oompff". if you get what I mean. The songs they are performing are high energy songs, but I honestly did not get any feeling of power or fierceness from either of them. You know how for instance when Lee Hi first performed on Kpopstar and she came on stage like a sweet young woman then all of a sudden her eyes changed when she started to perform? Well, I didn't get any of that feeling from these girls, in fact, throughout the whole performance their expressions didn't seem to change much, if at all. And as we have seen, being expressionate regardless if they are doing aegyo or not is an important part for all idols like literally two contestants made it through because of their expressions alone helping them a large part, meanwhile, these girls (forgive the expression ) had a dead inside kind of vibe. Going back to the lack of power in their dancing part, their movements seem kind of lazyish? They don't seem to put enough precision or force into their movements and in some parts seem to be just flailing about. Overall, I'd say this performance wasn't bad, but it wasn't outstanding either. I feel like the judges and the audience probably felt similarly. And it's not like they were against sexy concepts, because plenty of other girls got through doing sexy concepts like the ones who danced to Hyuna and etc. But like I said, what I do agree with is that these girls still should have been given priority air time over rookies and trainees and even random ex-actors who are on the show for some reason. And some of those dudes even failed. the audience left them hanging, they only got 1 boot that's why probably Meanwhile dudes that were equally as good/bad got 5 or 6 boots.
