Need help in getting over my fear

I have motion sickness since young. I'm afraid of taking planes because of the turbulence.

I'm going to travel by plane next week, which is less than one hour away.

So I need help in distracting myself from the fear or help me get over it

Take some medicine 1hr before hand and let the power of science do it's thing. On another note, i have seen that people with Ms suffer more if they read and move their heads a lot. So i guess don't read instead listen to music and close your eyes. Plane travel, usually, is better than other forms of transport, esp for people suffering from ms. It doesn't really have that erratic and winding movements. It feels like the plane is literally stationary.

Turbulence is only scary if they trashing around the air like those in a bad action film. A plane is very resilient and is supposed to be able to bear through the pressure. Don't be scared if the wings bend and jerk, it's normal. Experienced very bad turbulence during a flight to Japan. Plane shook like it was in a tornado gurl. Nothing happened. Planes are very safe. They are very very very well made with different sets of backups even if any engine were to fail.

I close my eyes and pretend that I'm in a train, because the feeling is kind of similar. I'm not sure if it'll help you, but it worked for me. smile.png

I'll try that on my plane trip. Thanks :D

If it's a longer flight, try and fall asleep. For example staying up the night before :O ?

How do you fall asleep on planes? Help me juseyo.

I get motion sickness from planes too, but you can get pills for that. They work great for me.

The problem is my mom. She prefer something natural and questioned me when I get pills

I would still get pretty anxious when turbulence happens

Chew gum ~ I also have motion sickness just headaches tho, but chewing gum makes me feel better

You're lucky that you only got headaches. For me, I would vomit all of my last meal out.

Reminds me of an overnight bus trip back home, I sat on double decker bus with my mom and relatives. I tried not to have that thought, instead focus on sleep throughout the trip. End up puking all the way back home ohdearplz.png
