Ko Dae-young, president of KBS, who has been under pressure to resign from the two labor unions, announced his intention to resign from the presidential office on August 8th.

As a result, the KBS trade union, one of the unions which involve in general strike, will temporarily suspend the strike at 12am on the 10th. It is 72 days of the strike since August 31st. After that, the union will pressure the political parties to do some revisions on the Broadcasting Act.

Another union (a new union), National Press Workers Union is likely to continue the strike irrespective of KBS trade union's decision to suspend the strike.

"We will continue to strike until Ko Dae Young's full withdrawal," a new union official from KBS said and dismiss the discussions about the suspension of the strike.
