Considering Zayn Malik left One Direction with no warning with a tour to finish and a whole album left to record, it's no surprise that his bandmates took his exit personally -- especially his bestie in the band, Louis Tomlinson. They famously feuded for months after Zayn quit.

 

It's been nearly three years since Zayn left the band, though. He's buried the hatchet with Louis, at least enough to have a nice twitter exchange with him.

 

But the question is, does he consider his ex-bandmates friends again?

 

Based on Zayn's new interview with Billboard, it looks like the answer is still no.

 

“Our relationships have definitely changed since we were in a band together, but I think that’s just life," Zayn told the magazine when asked about his relationship with 1D.

 

Zayn seems pretty okay with the fact that he's grown apart from the boys. "Everybody grows up; two of the guys have got kids now," Zayn explained. "But no, I don’t talk to any of them, really.â€

 

Seems nothing has changed since his 2016 interview with Billboard when he pretty much said the same thing. And that's a bummer. Guess you can't always get what you want. But at least the rest of the boys are still close!

Why did he left?

He got caught cheating on his girlfriend, left the tour to go back to her, and then decided he didn't want to comeback and left lmao

He hated the music the band made and had anxiety and depression so leaving was the best for him tbh

Didn't many of them said through out their interviews that the days with 1d were toxic? The band was just business...

 

 

I don't know why he's so cocky tho, he's the least successful ex member of 1D right now and he's latest song flopped so hard.

Lol no, he have no. 1 on hot 100,non of 1d boys did that, a second song hit #2, again non of the boys did that, his latest song is a worldwide hit. The only thing the other boys are doing better is touring, and zays is not cuz he seems to have issues been on stage. But overall he's the most successful one next to harry.

Yeah, cause those "big snakes" bullied her, called her racist names and did not even let their other band members know of their solo career intentions.

i still feel bad for perrie. she was so loyal to him and so happy to be engaged and he had to go cheating every chance he had.

pillow talk hit no 1 cause he's the first to solo debut out of 1d and he had all the hype. The second song didn't even peaked no 2. IDWLF was a hit because it was Taylor's song 2 years after her last album. His solo stuff beside his debut song flopped. At least others 1D members have multiple top 20 hits. Zayn couldn't even cracked in to top 40.

I'm talking about the entire discography, doesn't matter collaboration or not. Liam till now only released 3 songs, one of them we can call it a hit the others no, Louis released 2,both did well, Niall album did ok on the chart on the first week but fall after that, he's singles did pretty good but never reach 1 neither in UK or US, Harry released one album and did good, 3 singles only 1 is a hit. Looking at Zayn discography, he have 3 hits and 2 songs did ok on charts, the songs from his album charted well, the album charted and sold pretty good, so now in terms of charts/sells zayn is the best among the boys, doesn't matter if it's collaboration or cuz he left first, actually all of this proves that he made a good choices for his career from collaboration with ww artists to leaving 1D considering how many of the members said it was just like business and was toxic environment.

where... he was number one worldwilde on itunes and he got more than 300 mill views on youtube all hat with zero promo your favs can't relate.... lol please 1d fans

lol he only answering the question and he always say the same thing since first time they questionned him about that subject.... 1D can talk many times about him and even lie about them being close even after the departure of him and then they didn't know about his anxiety and eating disorder lol please the guy was a skeleton back then...  I just wish zayn to don't answer about them anymore ...
