BTS may receive a ton of hate for daring to break into their sphere simply for not being American and/or white (though these people would try to disguise their racism as anything else) but hey, I think it's good that both them and ARMYs are trying to bring about more acceptance towards a music industry that's outside of their (Western fans) own. The difference between earlier kpop acts winning western awards and BTS winning western awards is that BTS has a very strong, very visible Western fanbase. I've seen plenty of people who hated on kpop and then do a 360 and change their opinion ( a lot of directioners do this and end up stanning bts).
