Have you ever had song which you avoided listening to...

... a song, in order to preserve some "memories" attached with the song, or simply to preserve its catchiness?

For example, I've loved SNSD's Time Machine for at least 2 years now, even though I've overplayed it a lot. I really like how the instrumental fits perfectly with the song, theme and vocals. But now, whenever it comes up in my playlist I skip it because I'm afraid of the inevitable: the day I wake up and find it being a crappy song boring me to hell and back. *deletes from library* Ahhhhh I'm sad just thinking about that hahaha

Meanwhile, SNSD's HaHaHa reminds me of the happiest times I had in middle school. I still love the song to the max, especially the awesome chorus. But I feel like the more I listen to it, the more the memories which are washed away from the melody... so now I avoid it playing it :c

Do any of you have feelings like this? KPOPALYPSE has taught me that the answer to every question that begins with "Am I the only one..." is a no, so I have my hopes up :3

I know exactly what you're talking about. Let me think.

EDIT: I was thinking: TTS's Library but....not really. Moreover it grew old anyways, so even if it was that type of song, I failed, lol.

So I guess the only one I could say I'm doing that for is How Can I by DBSK.

not really, I tend to play my faves into oblivion and I rarely get tired of them, if ever...

This. Sometimes if I take a break from playing it, it isn't because I'm purposely avoiding it but just from playing other things. But then when it pops up on my playlist I still get excited.

Yes, basically all of my bias group's songs. I don't like to overplay them, or any song in general, so I won't listen to them unless I absolutely have to. For example, an album that I've had since early 2011 the most played song on it only has 243 plays. Out of the group's 67 or so songs, the most played song only has a count of 394.

This is the group I listen to the most, by the way. No other Korean artists comes close to that, and that's pretty sad.

Or maybe it's not that sad considering I have 3552 Korean songs on my itunes.

They can't all have that many plays, that'd mean I was super obsessed.

there are songs I avoid listening to for other reasons though. either because of bad memories associated with them, or because as much as I love them, they affect me too much emotionally and make me sad and put me in a weird mood for hours, so I try not to listen to them too much... haha
