Joga 1,315
They don't seem to be doing too well, and we all thought they'd be the next big bang but they've even been overshadowed by their juniors, BlackPink It seemed like they were sprinting in front, but WINNER has been delivering consistently Why did iKon burn out so quickly? Is there any hope for them?

juu 3,359
too long hiatus, over-saturation during their debut (those several releases at once) and yeah, the quality of their comeback songs wasn't the best they need more constant promo instead of once a year with 5 mvs, but tell that yg

Ruby672 1,362
They put all of title worthy tracks on their debut album despite they already have public recognition. Get lost from public for one year then comeback with B-sides tracks as their title songs. Their long run strategy needs to be re-examined tbh

Cytherial 4,589
Too bad because at one point they were on par with Twice and Gfriend’s popularity But here are the possible reasons I think that made their downfall 1. They overly promoted in the Japanese market, which I honestly can’t blame them because that’s where the higher income is at, and forgot their fanbase back home. 2. Mediocre comebacks. Their comeback this year has to be the weakest musicality-wise sans their Japanese singles that even their survival show tracks can easily put to shame everything they put out this year. 3. Surge of popularity by other fresher-old groups. Wannaone, Nuest etc 4. Alledged attitude problems of some members. Weird enough that this has been an issue to them since the beggining. So I wonder if it’s really true.

Saint Rose 9,391
Honestly, speaking there's not really an avenue for IKON anymore. What demand is IKON filling right now? Hip hop is done and overplayed with boygroups rtn. I think a lot of the kpop fandom is over it right now. IKON is slipping under the radio from lack of promo + a concept that died out with bg tbh Winner came out with RR sometime in April 2017 In late 2016, BlackPink came out with PwF Ikon came out with BB..... So obviously, YG thinks that sticking with a certain sound/concept for IKON is a good thing but it's not. IKON had hits like Airplane so idk why YG is acting stubborn to change them up to the public

tide 14,243
i can't at people saying they have too many hype songs when they have just as many ~slow~ songs the problem was that they had an all-or-nothing promotion where they promoted ~7 songs in about 5 months (all of which did well despite kpop fans fuming) and then disappeared, only to reappear, drop an unpromoted single (that still managed fo get 300k) before disappearing again
