PD Of iKON’s New Variety Show reveals why she cast them over other YG artists

PD Park Ji Eun said, â€œYang Hyun Suk’s love for iKON is extraordinary. He told me that WINNER is like his oldest son and iKON is like his youngest son.â€

She continued, “I spoke with other YG artists when planning the show, but out of all of [the YG artists], iKON looked like they desired it the most and was full of enthusiasm. They have the skills to become gems in the variety show world, and I felt they were the best fit for the show.â€

iKON’s first travel buddies are Japanese rising stars Sumimoto Miho, Nomura Nao, Oguri Kako, Nishida Hirari, Kawazu Asuka, and Tinabe Kaho. Park Ji Eun told reporters she plans to make the show into “a global project†and that they will collaborate with many other countries such as the U.S. and China.

“Global Friendship Project School- Rebellious Field Trip†will premiere on JTBC on November 4 at 12:20 a.m. KST.

This will be the first chance for people to have a better view at iKON outside survival shows from years ago. And the show looks like fun already:

Well bp are busy with photo shoots, winner are busy with relevant shows so it would make sense that they casted ikon.

Yeah, touring nonstop with a few festivals thrown is doing nothing and just sitting at home twiddling their thumbs waiting for work, right?

Yeah, like being overworked from too much touring isn’t busy, right?

I’m so glad they casted iKON for this! Time for them to show Korea that they are variety gems. I love how the hosts got attached to iKON immediately. They really are father-figure attractors. I can’t wait to see the show!

I'm glad that they will do more with other countries. I was kinda upset that it will prob last just a few eps. The question is will iKON still be casted or are they doing it with someone else?

 

Ps. "they have the skills to become gems in the variety show world" is so spot on. They have the right personality naturally but never get the opportunity to get variety experience. This show fits iKON so well Im glad they're chosen.
