For those who have not watched this show, this show traces the story of the grand tactician Sima Yi from the Han Dynasty. Season 1 covers his rise to prominence in Wei courts and ends with Cao Pi, Cao Cao's son, taking over power. 

 

Season 2 will be out soon and from the look of the trailers will cover Sima Yi's continual rise to power and also the battle of the master tacticians Zhuge Liang from Shu vs Sima Yi from Wei.

Season 1 was extremely well-received in Mainland China and also the Chinese communities in Asia. I will definitely have higher expectations for Season 2 due to the introduction of Zhuge Liang into Sima Yi's life, as Sima Yi will never be complete without Zhuge Liang and vice-versa. Both of them are like Batman and Joker, they complete each other.
