Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp - Discussion

For those who are unaware, it is available in Australia (both for Android & IOS) - to get the android version you need to download the APK & to get the iPhone version you need to creat an AUS Apple account and download it that way - you can't link your Nintendo Account + you can't buy micro-trasactions unless you're in AUS (but tbh the game doesn't even require it to have fun)

I'm currently playing and I'm obsessed! I was not expecting this little treasure from a Mobile Game!

I will look into it but if it is anything like Super Mario Run, I will probably give up on it. I feel the latter game is more "pay to play" then "free to play" you can barely do much without forking over more money over an app that was already 5 dollars to purchase.

Is it available in the US yet? I love ac but on the ds or wii, it's so much more fun. Where's the roof

No Roof unfortunately, but that should be available on the switch title (when it's released) and it is available to play now if you're willing to make an Australian account!

it's actually not heavy on Micro-transactions (yet!) - They are mostly used to speed things up but if you've played previous AC's I'm sure you can appreciate taking things slow and waiting until things are added/constructed in your Town.

Thanks for making this thread!

It comes out late November.

I wonder how well this camping concept will do cause I enjoyed the whole town thing a lot.

And Tom Nook was trending on twitter yesterday. He's coming for our real money fD4JAZe.png

I expect the same, it's probably gonna be low on content if you're f2p. I already get bored quickly with the full AC games.

I wonder if this game will reel me in enough to be patient for it. To this day, the only game that managed to keep me around long enough was The Simpsons: Tapped Out until I got tired of the ridiculously complicated events.

Hopefully, its more of a fair game!

'Animal Crossing Pocket Camp' Data Mine Reveals Gardening, Weather, and More

It turns out the APK has loads of references to planting plants and the different states of soil. In Animal Crossing proper, there was a huge (and somewhat hidden) meta game surrounding planting and crossbreeding flowers. Could Pocket Camp get something similar? According to the data miners, "There are hints that many of the Garden related items will be purchasable, there references to other players visiting the garden, leaving footprints and more, but let's keep this info under speculation category for now."

Seasons also seem to be supported, which isn't that surprising, but what has us raising our eyebrow is traces of different locations mentioned in the APK:

.FacilitySchool

.FacilityShop

.FacilitySnack

.FacilityHospital

.FacilityRestaurant

.FacilityOffice

.FacilityDepartment

.FacilityHotel

.FacilityHall

The in-game map seems like it could be infinitely expanded, but what would you even do at an Animal Crossing office, or hotel? Additionally, Critical.gg found traces of different costumes (Mario, Link, etc.) and weather effects.
