Ah, meant to ask this. So did the girls not promote Gimme Chocolate on any shows like Music Japan or anything like that? Or was it not a proper single?

SU-METAL’s message about Sonisphere

" I am so honored that we are confirmed to play Sonisphere Festival UK,†declares SU-METAL. “There are so many different types of artists playing this festival but I hope to deliver a one and only, unique style metal – BABYMETAL – even to those who will see us for the very first time. This will be our very first time in the UK, which makes us nervous, yet excited just imagining what type of people will come and see us, what sort of show it will end up being, and whether the audience will enjoy our show. We’ll hopefully get to see Metallica-san’s performance again after witnessing them at Summer Sonic festival in Japan which we are very excited about “

Gimme Choko! is promotional track of their album BABYMETAL. Not a single.

I'm interested to see the reaction towards them, as well.

And hey, everyone. If you didn't vote for the Babymetal awards yet, make sure you do so! The voting is over tomorrow~

for the Sonisphere, I would love to see them perform the set that they did during Summer Sonic 2013 on the Rainbow Stage as per the live dvd with the special edition album. that performance rocks!

Since they'll be performing on the Bohemia tent, so it'll be quite small and intimate with the audience rather than the open air stage such as the Apollo and Saturn stage for the big acts. would be expecting a circle pit as huge as the tent itself and a wall of death charge.

the probable set list for a 30 mins set. will be expecting the heavy hitter set list that'll keep the crowd mosh*sh for the whole set.

Babymetal Death

Megitsune

Gimme Choco!

Catch Me If You Can / Doki Doki Morning / Iine (these will probably be interchangeable)

Headbangerrrrr!

Ijime Dame Zettai.

Congrats on the thread!

Babymetal makes good performances, and I sincerely hope that some of their newfound fans (obviously not from here...) will check out what idols are about - and maybe understand enough to begin to respect the genre!

I have liked Babymetal very much for the last couple of years (discovered them a month after 2NE1...) and do not really believe that they can break through to the mainstream (but they are beginning to be noticed by mainstream listeners..) - but if they can reach a fifth of Metallica's name recognition they will be a roaring sensation, and will probably change the game for pop-metal bands... funny how metal unites some of the most humourless, self-concious musicians; and some of the funniest.... unfortunately mainstreamers usually only know the dark, humourless types (those OctopitMark Schrayber is mentioning on jezebel.com: quote: "Somewhere in Norway there is a metalhead in corpse paint standing in a forest crying tears of blood."

In my opinion the importance of Babymetal lies in their chance to show mainstreamers that heavy is much more than angry boys, and fat old guys in bodypaint - and to show rockers that idols have something to offer.

Meanwhile we can enjoy the music, their shows and everything about them - do not forget to give a listen to Mini-pati, and of course Karen Girls:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvVM6oaY1ZA

(Zettai Karen Children OP: "Over TheFuture" - it exist in HD, but I cant refind it...)

This is from 2008 (30.august) and Suzuka is the youngest member

Two things about this video: watch the audience - some of them are really hyper.... and watch how Suzuka is obviously enjoying the spotlight - at that age she was already a confident and charismatic performer, so much that it is a joy to behold!

(and now back to the 2NE1 Thread, but:

See You!)

Nice thread, I'm so into Babymetal since I saw Give Me Chocolate like 2 months ago and I have a big crush on Suzuka

What I like the most is the energy they display on their performances, it's really contagious, refreshing and kind of fun. As for the music I'm not really into metal and I also don't listen to j-pop idols at all but you know what they say "the sum of the whole system is greater than the sum of its parts" and I just love the synergy in the music they do.

Overall I think Babyemetal has had a good reception by people open minded enough, whether they're 'TRVE' metal fans or not, and I wish babymetal to be successful enough to have some concerts in America, that's something I'm looking fordward to :chu:

Right now they're like really cute and evoque a lot of tenderness in most male fans but I wonder what is going to be the direction of the group in like 2 or 3 years when they're turn like 18 or when they stop being as cute as they're right now.

So far my favourite tracks are Megitsune, Headbanger and Death. I like the 3 little girls but Suzuka has like a strong presence in stage, she looks really badass and I like her voice a lot. If you hear like old perfomances or hear studio versions and compare with more recent footage you can notice how her voice has developed so if she keeps up improving shes going to become an amazing singer.

Now I'm watching a lot of stuff from Sakura Gakuin lol, and here are some stuff from Suzuka's graduation concert.

Her voice is very clear on this one.

I feel like crying when watching this T__T

Ahh yes... that was a fine SG collection.... and don't cry - one can't stay in school forever.....

Btw (OT) are you really old enough to remember Suzy Quattro?? Thumbs up!

Babymetal should go to Roskilde Festival... but I guess the arrangers are too stuck in the past: there are often new/interesting music on Roskilde, but usually on the smallest stages.....

lol I'm not that old but I do know her and I think it is a very cool name.

Talking about the festival I recently found this :stare:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOmm53BcWO0

They need to play this in every festival they attend with the kami band, I like the way it begins with kami band seting the mood and the girls entering jumping and screaming and it also has some cool riffs.

For some reason youtube is overflowing with BM fanvideos - but many of them are less than inspiring.

The 2 videos I quote are of a genre which I usually dislike, but these are good:

First "The Dark Heroines" by http://www.youtube.com/user/hadiruto3Rasen is a three minute tribute set to heroic music:

The next, "Babymetal Fan Movie: 'What is the Youth'" by http://www.youtube.com/user/drotten100

is really a movie: Babymetal videoclips are beautifully choreographed to music from The Velvet Underground to the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack. Give it a few minutes, and you will watch to the end:

In another genre, but equally impressive is the piece of wotagei displayed in ã€ãƒ²ã‚¿èŠ¸ã€‘ヘドãƒãƒ³ã‚®ãƒ£ãƒ¼!! ã€Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!】 - YouTube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4jIF0BHVCo

Be sure to watch at least the first 40 seconds...
