How did you learn english

I noticed alot of users on here are not from English dominant countries... How did you learn english? Was it hard to learn? What are your thoughts on the language?

I personally grew up in a country where English is an official language so like I learned just by living here since a very young age (Canada)

I started with English lessons in 3th grade but I learned it intensively by listening to music, watching movies/tv shows in English (the main reason tbh. I could never wait until they were dubbed in my language.), reading English books and browsing on English websites.

Grew up in a country where English is the official language(not a native English speaking country). When I was 10, moved to a country where English is thought from 3rd grade onwards. English is the language I speak with almost all my friends and the language I use the most.

When I first moved to the U.S. when I was 9, I watched a lot of Disney Channel and cartoons. Although, I could already communicate efficiently in English, because it's in the curriculum in the Philippines, and almost a second language to most people.

I'm from the Philippines, and English is our second language. We learned it side by side with our main one which is Tagalog. Speaking it outside formal settings was weird, most never really spoke in full English sentences in my region, kinda associate it to being snobby. Only became fluent when I moved to the US, I lost that pure Filipino accent, but I still have an accent, if that makes sense.

I started learning English in school in 4th grade but was really bad at it until I got interested in manga in 7th grade and had to learn it to be able to read the series that I wanted. In 8th grade I also started streaming movies and tv series online and they didn’t have subs in my mother language so that helped my English a lot too.

I learned in school since I was six I think and got better reading fanfiction at like 12, 13 (XD)

Hard? Not really, but I suppose that was because I started very young

My thoughts? It's useful. I don't particulary like it but it's needed
