bellshia 3,438 Posted April 2, 2014 Share Posted April 2, 2014 Here's my um...'uncommon' opinion. 1.I almost scoffed when I read somewhere that it is 'the greatest Disney movie ever made'. Not even close! 2.I think there are a gazillion covers of 'let it go' out there that are SO much better than the original. In other words, I didn't quite like the way the vocalist rendered the original song. The only plus to the rendition was the power. When I read netizen comments saying they only wanted to hear the original version, I was literally like Nope. Just nope. 3.There were also a lot of atricles about its 'Graphics extravaganza'. The only effect I liked in the movie was the scene where Else creates her castle of solitude. Very beautifully crafted.Otherwise it lacked the kind of detail that Disney presented in the likes of Tangled. The thing that really saved frozen for me was Olaf! I was watching Tangled the other day, and my first thought was the the animation for the facial expressions of the characters was much better. Idina Menzel is a good singer, but she sounds like shit in that song, which btw, I never got the hype of. I don't think the movie is bad though. But it didn't meet my expectations. The movie had a nice, positive message but it's full of plot holes and it's crazy to me that people are comparing it to The Lion King, which was perfection from beginning to end and never had a dull moment. And I also agree, the only saving grace in the movie was the cute snow man. Shame, because the book is actually quite good. I hear that they might actually take over the making of "The School of good and evil" and I swear that if they mess that story up I'm going to flip. I walked out of the movie theater grinning and I searched for the soundtrack as soon as I got home), but it's so ridiculously overrated. It's a feel good movie and it has some good songs, I'll give it that, but it's no where near the best Disney movie. heck, even Tangled was better overall, and definitely much more memorable. There are other animated movies I can think off at the top of my head that are so, so much better.. like 'how to train your dragon', for example. However I do agree with people who say it's better than 'Brave'... Brave's characters were endearing but I feel like I'm the only one who was bored out of my mind watching the movie. I don't think it's the greatest disney movie but when look at all the disney princess movies they're all alike, typical ending and rushed. The little mermaid is by far my favorite disney princess movie (Beauty and the Beast also) but that movie was rushed as well. Mulan had lots of hype it was crazy. Frozen isn't the only disney movie to feel rushed and have a lot of hype, it is the most hyped but you have youtube, tumblr, other social media to thank for that. Tangled was a good movie but wasn't memorable they didn't have a memorable song that you can see be included in disney classics years from now (yeah that stars song is good but do people remember it) and Brave wasn't memorable as well. People are mistaken if they think Let It Go isn't a memorable song or even be including in the disney classics. It's an overall good movie but it was very hyped. I miss the old drawing style of disney to be frank. Now I get Disney can't go outside the box and be super daring, but to label this as "The best Disney movie" was a reach. The only thing that saved this movie for me was Idina Menzel's "Let it go". Not to say I hate the movie, I don't, i'm just not as "In love" with it as some are.
