To clarify, I am not taking about them being bigger than their peak-SNSD days as that will not happen, but I am talking about the possibility of them being more popular as they currently are today.

Sometimes, we just never know what can happen, but there are routes  where they can get a big acting break with hallyu drama impact, or be lead-casted in movie with millions of ticket sales, or have a runaway hit track (like Sunmi's Gashina).

But among the four who has the best chance 5 years down the road where they are really able to re-invent their careers and still be a top star without being known as an SNSD member?

Thanks!

I hope Sooyoung can become an established and respected actress. In my opinion she is a good actress as far as idols go. I'm excited to see her try more roles and hopefully film acting. Hard to say who will be the most successful. All 4 girls are skilled but skill is not necessarily the formula for "making it big", a lot of it is luck, timing, connections.

For me, I hope they all prove SM and all k-pop agencies wrong. K-pop agencies know that once you stop being a member and leave the agency, the probability of you having a successful career after is very slim, and that is why they feel they have all the power. 2ne1, T-ara members were not able to do it, and Wonder Girls has Sunmi as the only success story. That is why being a girl group member is a big dead-end.

But If there is one group where the members have a legit shot of continuing their careers after disbandment, it should be SNSD members.

Jessica's fashion brand is available in like a hundred different locations.

She's also released 3 solo albums which have all done pretty well physically for a female solo idol.

She's held various fan-meetings and mini-concerts in different countries.

She's doing very well for herself currently but she also got a 3-year head-start. I hope Sooyoung and Seohyun will do well too.

Frankly speaking, Jessica has already proven that she can do extremely well. She has a really successful fashion brand throughout Asia, which brings in far more money than the idol life, and on top of that she is the third best selling female solo artist of all time on the Gaon Album Chart behind IU and Taeyeon, and as well know physical sales bring in quite a lot of money as well.

Seohyun is by default getting a bigger career after SNSD because she didn't have much going while she was in SNSD.

She made a good impression through her first drama and many k-fans and drama viewers in Korea agree she has a lot of potential and versatility as an actress. Even on DC drama where they show no mercy to anyone, most evaluate her acting debut as pretty good, better than expected, and say she's more charming as an actress than idol.

The public holds on to prejudices like a grip, whether they be idol prejudices or looks or faux pas. Not being oversaturated when she was an idol, combined with leaving SM at the right time, having a trustworthy image, and her natural beauty are going to be big advantages.

It looks like music is going to be her secondary career which is fine because there's less pressure and more room for creativity. She can release what she likes. She has the requisite talent and she's proven she can curate a solid album so either way there will be something to enjoy.

Jessica already is pretty good considering her album sales, concerts, clothing line etc.

Sooyoung has a good eye for variety and also dramas and the public knows her so I guess it's only natural for her to take that direction and if the public will dig it, I am pretty sure she will do just fine.

Tiffany, probably gonna focus on music and music abroad because her image in Korea isn't so good, especially as a solo. Will probably still release albums in Kor too and promote them but I think she will mainly focus on the American market.

Seohyun, and I am not biased, has the best potential between Soo and Tiffany. Already built a good reputation for her acting in musicals but also, for her acting in dramas. She is good and with more practice, I am sure she can snatch good roles. As for her music, I am sure she will release more material and if they are public-friendly (though I doubt she will go for a ballad or something since she loves showing a more mature side), the public response will be better than with Don't Say No.
