How is the Nintendo Switch?

I love it. So far I've played Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and Stardew Valley on the Switch. Breath of the Wild is really good, and I love Splatoon 2 even more than the first Splatoon. Salmon Run is a nice addition. The others games I've played are all fun as well. Super Mario Odyssey comes out in two weeks, and I'm really looking forward to playing it.

battery life depends on the game.

breath of the wild tends to use more power and lasts about 3h, most other games tend to last an hour or so longer.

rather than a pure portable, it's more like:

1) morning bedside gaming

2) public transportation (train, bus, plane)

3) meeting somewhere without a TV (but with an outlet)

4) gaming while cooking

i've done all the above and it's a surprisingly good feeling. screen is GORGEOUS in portable mode.

tabletop mode is really nice, and pairs especially well with the various system stands (the built-in one is "fine").

just in general the system feels light and unburdensome even in dock mode.

splatoon 2

mario kart DX

zelda: breath of the wild

new mario rabbids game supposed to be quite fun and mario odyssey this winter expected to be an absolute masterpiece. stardew valley coming (if it isn't already out) and a big push of indie and downloadable games.

it's a good system and 300 is not expensive (it's cheap) by today's standards.

new smash?

do you mean brand new entry or a deluxe port of the wiiU/3ds entry?

because i highly doubt we're getting a new smash anytime soon but i expect a port within the next 6 months (probably a short period of time after odyssey)

Battery life depends on what games you play like what 25%Cotton said, I can use my switch for up to about 4 hours before it drained completely, screen brightness affects it if playing on max brightness (I find myself using 40 to 50% brightness max). Plus it also depends on the games you play, some indies games would make the switch last longer while games really demanding like BOTW will drain it. Although I usually have my battery bank and a USB type c which will help extend the battery, despite the joycons may drain out over time.

As for new smash, apparently the new Mario game is getting a 10/10 which is really good for Nintendo and their system.as BOTW was in the same ball park. So hoping for a new smash might actually come out sooner if Nintendo wants to still dominate their own first party market. Although port would come  out first from the previous generation. I say give it until next year's E3 we might be getting a smash game on the Switch. Not to mention Metriod and Pokemon going onto the system within the next two or three years.

Who owns a Nintendo Switch? I want to purchase one in the near future so I'm looking for negative and positive insites on it.

My only compliant about the Switch is the lack of first party games. We have a lot of new games like BOTW but that was on the Wii U I just honestly wish that Nintendo will just show us something like Xenoblades to just blow us away in terms of the hardware capabilities inside the Switch.  A nitpick is that you need to buy a separate charging dock for the joy cons but aside from those, it's a really nice console and for the price despite the lack of availability of stock is a really good price to entertainment value.
