The thing is, people are saying new generation, but that doesn't necessarily mean 4th generation since, contrary to all past generations, not everyone agrees on which one we are now, some say still in the 3rd while others are already saying there's a 4th generation. For me it's: 1st gen- 90's- 2002 2nd gen- 2003- 2010 3rd gen/new-2011-now A generational cycle shouldn't be cut so short (to me). I mean, I understand why people do it but in my opinion a new generation happens when a new group of artists start to take over the industry and change the mechanisms of it by setting new standarts for like trends.
