Why doesn't SNSD have a label like Super Junior?

First of all, I'm sorry to majority of sones, who are having a hard time now, I feel for you.

This something I'm curious about. A lot of sones and kpop fans are angry and sad and decided that blaming Super Junior for SNSD's disbandment is the most reasonable thing at the moment. So I'm like, okay? Not really surprised anymore though.0u0plz.png

But I have seen a lot of retweets for stuff like: SNSD got nothing, yet SM's men got their own label for 10th anniversary.

So what is your opinion on that?

I mean, the whole time I thought Super Junior got to make some investments  and negotiations in order to have one?

Does anybody know how this label stuff works?ahmagahplz.png or why only SJ has it?

Oh shut up no one is blaming Suju. I haven't seen any sone blaming Suju! Wat drugs are u on? Also Sm would never give Snsd a label they are so damn petty. Snsd was more than capable to do a world tour but they only toured in asia. In less than 8 countries. Sm has always been a bitch. Am happy those that left, left cos they deserve better all of em including Jess.

They are a G I R L group that's why

But Super Junior has been very proactive about their own label and my guess is that they had to invest  into it. I feel like Kpop fans are taking this effort for granted if it's really how it went. Therefore I'm curious about the process.

SJ wanted to continue with their music, so they got the opportunity to create Label SJ so they can have more of a hands on influence with their work. SNSD members wanted to explore their opportunities and do more than just music, but SM has been holding them all back for a long time. Sadly this poor management has lead to some SNSD members departing, but thankfully this also means that they will have more freedom to do what they want, when they want. The only person to blame for this is SM, not SJ, not the members that left, it's purely SM's fault that SNSD was treated so poorly, manipulated and deprived of many amazing opportunities. I honestly wish SNSD got something like Label SJ though, I would've loved that

I already said I feel sorry for majority of Sones as I know they got nothing to do with it, but still.. I have seen a lot of Suju slander tbh(I like to scroll the Suju tag on twitter in order to get news).

I think about it too. But I guess there must also be a bad side to it? But I guess we'll never know the details of SM's inner workings.

SM always has some shady shit going on. While I wish SM would've treated SNSD better, that's not reality and at this point I honestly just wish all the girls left together. It boggles my mind that SM can have the biggest girl group in Korea in the palm of their hands, yet mismanage them so poorly that they end up like this. Sadly this doesn't just happen to SNSD either, but pretty much all of SM's groups get this treatment at one point or another unsure.png

Because SM obviously hates women and only care about their boygroups imstupid.png

Nah, I guess Suju fought really hard for that label and they still all want to be together as a group. The 3 Soshi members probably wanted to do their own things outside SM and SNSD which is understandable.

because they don't even care about the group anymore they want to go their individual paths.. 0u0plz.png they chose not to re-sign by a choice.

I'm done with the bullshit y'all have been spreading.

The girls love each other and cherish the group. They didn't leave SNSD, they left SM. They said countless time how much they love SNSD. SM is being the monster here, fighting the girls for a year. Seohyun even put girls' generation back to her bio.

Stop.

Super Junior have own label bc they all fighted hard for it. For months. I think even that it was a *give us the label and freedom we want, or we leave SM* thing to a point. And SM would habe been the biggest idiot in universe to let SJ ups i mean $$$ go..

On other side SJ didnt wanted to go separate like GG, SJ always says "we all or no one". Even if some members aka KRY members or EunHae have all own solo Albums, every of them comes running back to SJ as soon as possible. It was SJ who wanted the Label and they done much to get it, it wasnt gifted to them but they fighted. SM always put as many stones in SJ way as possible, never forget this. So GG not have an own Label was maybe their own wish not to have, and the wish to go separate ways. But anyway nothing of SNSD issues have to do with SJ. Leave the boys alone.

This got me wondering what would happen if all the members left for another company and continued like Shinhwa, Beast and I think BAP also?  It could have been a new beginning, but I guess being in SM also had some advantages for remaining members.

It would have been the dream tbh, but it's not going to happen. SM won't ever let taeyeon and yoona go

Multiple members of SNSD have talked about putting their mark on SNSD's discography and having creative control over their music. SM has rejected them multiple times save for a few lyrics submitted here and there. Tiffany has written her own music (bittersweet and crazy). Seohyun has talked about how she has to save her self-composed works for her own solo releases because SM keeps rejecting her. All this means is that if they want opportunities that they won't have their own management company rejects huge roles without telling them or tries to tell them they can't audition or seek out their own opportunities. Before yesterday I never knew that Seohyun was offered a role in train to busan.

Because SM is a sexist ass company that treats their female artist like shit. That's the answer.ohdearplz.png

so u rlly think its a sexism thing and SM do treat or did ever treat SJ well?

SM is simply a company who treat EVERYONE like shit. Them treat only the ones well for a time being who only debuted and need to raise the fanbase. But SJ didnt even got this privilege back than.

SM is rejecting a lot of stuff tbh, but from anyone. If it's not up to their idea or standard, they might not let their idols participate. Even SJ's friend producers said before  that their work for SJ can be rejected by SM and something else might get chosen. About rejecting roles for Seohyun, it's really a question whether the reason was her image or anything else.

Yes, I've noticed before on multiple occasions that SNSD members wanted to put more influence on their discography. I mentioned "more than music" though because it has been primarily noted that members want to act, study abroad, and generally just pursue more than they were offered at SM. SM better smarten up with the remaining members, and I'm glad Seohyun, Sooyoung, and Tiffany are now able to explore more opportunities

Because SM sucks d*ck. They don't give a damn about what their artists want but if you are a girl group you can fucking forget about getting anything special. I thought we already established this?

Because SM is a sexist ass company that treats their female artist like shit. That's the answer.:._.:

It's because 3 member decided not to renew. Label sj is basically only for music direction & sj member are all renewing , snsd didn't , some already renew some don't & they want more than just doing music

Snsd aren't good business women, imo if 9/30 didn't show you enough + their current 3 year silence on why they thought it was a good idea to kick jessica out. Idt any other successful girl group, western or eastern ever stayed silent on a member leaving in the middle or late in their career ever. Snsd is the only one i think. Even if a NDA agreement was offered, idg why they would sign it and make themselves look more heartless tbh damaging their own brand and believability of their friendship..

Like other commenters have said as well i think some members are probably tired of being in a group atm and under sm's solo management so i think if sm offered them their own label, they probably didn't take it

I agree with you. SM always treated SJ like an unwanted stepchild and never really promoted them properly! I think they got the SJ Label because they fought hard for it. SJ's been saying for years that they'll either all re-sign together or leave SM together so I think they might have twisted SM's arms and said "Give us our own label and give us control over our own brand or we'll walk" kind of talk. SJ has so many members and look at how many jobs each member has so even without their music, SJ is raking in the dough for SM. I think SJ Label is nothing more than just a team created to manage a huge group with too many members and multiple projects going on at the same time. That's all! I'm not sure if SJ has any say in how SJ Label runs things or even if SJ Label does anything to add to the longevity of SJ to be honest. Anyway, I wish the girls well and continue success in their chosen paths!
