Grouping Soloists (Part 2)

Recommended Posts

After I watched NS Yoon G's music video I was thinking who would fit well with her..

So I wanted to create another group out of 5 Soloists.. So I chose my favorites that were around the same age as her..

G.NA, Younha, NS Yoon G, JOO and Ailee

Now I know this seems to be a weird match.. but I think it has great potential to work!! Younha is known to be judgmental and opinionated.. but I think being in a group would be good for her.. she'll have someone to go through the struggles shes been through with her.. As for JOO.. I Love her voice and style but I want her to let loose a bit more.. This is just my opinion.. I think they could work..

G.NA - Leader/Vocalist/Lead Dancer

Younha - Co-Main Vocalist

JOO - Lead Vocalist

NS YoonG - Main Dancer/Visual

Ailee - Co-Main Vocalist/Maknae

I think they would be an amazing group with shuffling the genre/concept.. where as Ballads Younha & JOO and R&B Ailee..

Younha judgemental and opinionated? Whered u get this from?

Uh-oh. Be careful using the words "judgemental" and "opinionated" with "Younha" in the same sentence, or you're gonna hear from elolery. But yeah, what's the basis for this opinion (or fact, since you used the word "known for")?

Errr...Younha isn't really the type to fit in a girl group, unless it's a girl rock group ala AOA Black or something similar.

haha oops maybe I sounded too harsh. But the OP might have gotten his/her info from somewhere (e.g. the plenty long radio shows we don't get the translated version of), so I'm curious how he/she came to that conclusion. Like I'd imagine she feels the need to be firm when choosing what goes into her album or when expressing her views on radio/twitter, and thus might give an image of being judgmental or opinionated. dunno lol

Younha has been pretty much keeping her stages to herself nowadays. I think as she is crafting a better name for herself she might feel the need to distant herself from collaborations? I came to this idea because she says in that Arirang interview that she dislikes collabs where she feels she cannot fit in/ or the concept is pretty much fixed already. She probably wants more room to use her ideas.

Possibly. All of her collabs so far are with guys though. She probably needs someone who will compliment her voice, and for Younha, it's probably hard to achieve that with girls. Her duet with Baek Ji Young sounds ok, but didn't really highlight or empower each of the singers' voice. That was more of a "hey, the queens of OSTs are singing together" performance than and not really a track-worthy one. So Younha and Ailee in one group? Nah, I like their voices separately, not together.

Younha's rock band though, I'd ship that. I always prefer Younha on rock songs anyway.

She's collaborated with FT Island before? Now that's news to me...

EDIT: Oooh, you're right. You know what, back in 2007, I never really tried to listen to videos/songs where Younha is collaborating with another artist. I just want her voice. That's why I never listened to her videos with Wheesung or K.Will. I probably lost that so let me listen to these FT Island collabs for a while.

EDIT2: elolery, if we talk too much about Younha here, I suggest we move it to the Younha thread ^_^

Veteran group:

JeA - vocal

Kim Yeonji - maknae, vocal

Yoon Mi Rae - rap

Lee Hyori - Visual

Park Jiyoon - second visual

The only issue here would be what to do with Park Jiyoon and Hyori occupying the same spot, but this is a pretty strong line-up IMO.

2 top vocalists, korea's top female rapper, the most popular female soloist of the century and yet another very successful female soloist.

Possible substitutes/weren't included:

Narsha - vocal (not included because it'd be weird to have several people from the same group)

Miryo - rap (as above)

Kahi - dancer

It was from a radio show with IU i think she said something about the trend of girl groups exposing themselves alot more than before and she was talking about how IU is different from other girls

hmm...well Younha has always been well covered up, so I guess she abides by traditional ajumma rules X). She talks quite often about current affairs on her twitter too it seems.

btw, when was this?
