Heres two children with completely different outcomes

One is delighted with their puberty blockers and finally being able to live as a girl

One has changed their mind and but he now needs surgery to remove his breasts as oestrogen has permanently altered his body

i think it's great to support your child in their gender identity whether it's clothes they wear or toys they play with, but when it comes to hormones & puberty blockers i don't think it's right... i mean i'm not that well educated on puberty blockers but i think at least with those a child can safely go off of them ???? whereas hormones are a total life changer that shouldn't be taken so lightly !! ?

against. i once saw a 12 year old trans kid on twitter and i couldn't have pitied them more. they're not old enough to make these kinds of decisions for themselves. I think people need to wait till they're overage to fully decide if that's what they want or not

Well, it's their choice and if it will improve their mental health, then why not? If they regret it later, then they'll just have to take those steps  to recover.

some of the changes cause by taking hormones are irreversible such as fused bones to stop trans girls from growing taller, adams apple dropping, and breasts and sometimes even infertility

are these decisions children can really make?

It's stupid, I feel bad for kids of SJW parents who make their kids transition just because they may like activities of the opposite sex. That doesn't mean they feel like they were born the wrong gender

this, as a kid i used to adore sports and at some point i felt like i wanted to be a boy cause there weren't any girls teams that actually took it seriously... but it was just that, sports.

the problem never had anything to do with gender identity, but the fact that there werent a lot of all-girls soccer teams

yeah i'm pretty sure it's not that easy. especially because it requires a lot of money, on meds and stuff

Aren't puberty blockers supposed to only delay puberty and if you go off them you will have the normal puberty of your biological sex with no permanent consequences? That's what I have been told, in which case I think kids dressing the way they want and /maybe/ starting on puberty blockers is okay. But if the health consequences are more dire, then no. I certainly don't support kids having surgery and drastic things like that at such a young age.

Furthermore, sorry if this offends anyone but I've noticed that SOME people including adults are quick to label a child as "probably transgender/gender non-confirming" when in fact they are just a tomboy or like wearing 'girls clothes' as a boy. I actually loved dressing 'like a boy' when I was in elementary school but I was not transgender and I did not experience distress over my female body parts.

Lmao you say it like some of this stuff doesn't cause permanent damage to these kids.

Well, I don't know. I don't know the details on this stuff. But I guess I should be against it now, so nevermind.

Personally I don't find anything wrong with your opinion

Hormones will permanently change your body though so I just wanted to clarify.

Honestly if a child is suicidal over their gender dysphoria I would much rather them transition than end their lives

It's a very grey area

Transitioning isn't ideal at such a young age but sometimes there is no other option

Why would you be in support of something without knowing the side effects? kids could become infertile and dysphoria is something awful to go through, imagine having to go through all of that only to regret it and do it all over again with how much money that could cost and the years it would take? Transitioning from one gender to another is extensive enough, having to do it again isn't something that's just easily done in a day or even a year

Against in changing anything with your body until an adult.

I didn't know anything about transgender until my late teens, which I'm happy about because I think I would have done something regretfully to my body, if I had know what trans was. I felt like I wanted to be a boy once. Looking back I think it was a mixture of envious(I remember something in psychology about this) and not understanding my sexuality completely.

I'm not against calling them pronouns they perfer or wearing clothing they want. It just really big changes to your body which will be difficult to reverse if you find out this wasn't what it was.
