masakio 6,815
utilizing police brutality to stop voters was quite possibly the dumbest solution Spain could've come up with. All the ones on the fence about independence would've been swayed after today's events.

HRH Ayyu 4,199
im all for the peoples right to vote, but ballots were seized, and all the peopel that wanted to vote no where too scared to go vote. so i dont think the results shoud be valid. i hope there is a way for them to hold a peaceful and fair referendum without interference. Solfa 7,163
Right now what will change the most views on the independence is not the result itself, but the images of police beating up voters. There’s circa 850 injured so far. That’s what will remain in the minds of the people involved.

There’s circa 850 injured so far. That’s what will remain in the minds of the people involved. Think you are right about that. At work I saw people who didn't even know what Catalan was a few weeks ago, but are now fully supporting their independence or at least their right to have a vote for one. Shield 3,824
A constitution is there to be respected, there is no way for something to be recognized if it doesn't respect the constitution particularly when there is no law in their favour, be it national or int. Their way to independence is to change Spanish constitution first and then only can they try to be independent.
xingyi 189
I give two to zero fucks if they independice or not but the cutted videos of police attacking after being attacked are so damn annoying. They threw rocks at them and tried to push them out of a wall, now what do you expect them to do. Also, most people with the no in their mouth didnt go vote (the day before or so they attacked an anti independentist so you tell me how they will go and vote), the damn urns were full even before the voting started. Also, it was illegal, if they want to independice all Spain should vote, there are pics of the same person voting +3 times in different schools, also in the street a woman fucking pushed like 4 votes on the urn, just her, nobody asked for her ID or anything, personally I would vote yes just so I wont have to hear them complaining anymore, (sorry for the anti independentist in Catalonia) also the lies they are coming up with...like every Spanish is stealing them 3K € yeah no, you are in debt with Spain and keep asking for money, other communities are the ones that Spain is in debt with (Canary Islands for example). Also, if you all are going to comment about this, then please do some research before, because most comments sound so damn ignorant.
ImInCloud13 10,942
I mean that whole referendum was a fraud so it doesn't matter. Of course I don't like the violence used and that's a mistake but their reasons fro wanting to leave are stupid, selfish and naive

Sólo 5,3M pudieron votar. El resultado fue de 2.020.144 personas que votaron sÃ, sin contar las urnas que la policÃa consiguió requisar. Click here to view the Tweet Ya está bien de manipulación.
