Does age matter?

Does age matter for you when you want to follow a group?

We know how productive Kpop is, debuting new groups almost every month, with a younger generation of idols. And in youtube or here in OH you can always read comments like:

"She/He is really talented but wish she/he was older"

"Their music is good but they are fetuses"

And I honestly don't get it. Do people need to be certain age to be considered talented? Can't you appreciate a song if the singers are underage or younger than you?Time never stops, sooner or later we all will be "older" than the new idols, are you going to stop listening to kpop when this happens?

Or is this because Kpop fans need to thirst about idols 24/7 to "stan" so they need them to be older?

What do you think?

I have no problem if they are older or younger

I stan dream and Mark who is the oldest is a year younger than me so no obviously + my bias is Chenle who is the 2nd youngest

being born in '98 doesn't make a lot of kpop idols younger than me, mostly older

for as long as I like the music we're good

Or is this because Kpop fans need to thirst about idols 24/7 to "stan" so they need them to be older?

there is that too

thankfully, I do not thirst after people younger than me

bless small graces

I care about lyrics and idols who are a lot younger than me (not adults) have a higher chance of having lyrics I just can't relate to anymore or isn't relevant for me. That doesn't mean that the music is bad but it will just never have the impact on me that music I can relate to will have and it will therefor always be a lot harder for me to get into.

It doesn't matter for me. Especially when it comes to younger idols, I feel big sisterly feelings to them, like I want to protect them. That's why I get really creeped out when my male friend likes the same young idols I do- he's a nice person but has a few gross male tendencies and my big sister feelings kick in. laugh.png

Mostly I just enjoy watching them grow and evolve, I admire their talents and work ethic and oftentimes like the members who are cute and funny.
