Is it wrong to celebrate someone's death?

I don't think it is, I'm glad shitty people are dying, those who committed serious crimes, resulting in emotional and physical damage, politicians who ruined the lives of the citizens of the country they were supposed to take care of, etc. No need to respect them if they never respected others

What do you think? Let me know smile.png

Funerals where I live are celebrations of someone's life

But I know that's not the context you meant

Yeah if that person was a dick being glad they're gone isn't a mortal sin

If they were evil then I think it's not wrong to be glad they are dead, but we should also mourn their death since it removes all chance of repentance and restoration.

What do you mean? Restoration as in a chance to become good again?

like straight up throwing festivities for someones death is...weird....but i aint gnna shed any tears if they were a tyrant or someone like Trump

Nah not throwing a party I wasn't thinking that, but hearing the news that someone died and you get all happy

In some traditions they do

It's like sending them off in a good way or something

Yes some cultures do that, but I meant if a bad person dies. Unless they hope the bad person "redeems" themselves in the afterlife?

Yes. My daughter was molested by a man we know who claims to be a Christian. He is old and has a lot of health problems so I know he will die soon. Part of me will be glad but outside of my feelings as a mother it will be sad that he never repented and asked for forgiveness. Would he be "good" then? Probably not but there would be some closure for all of us.
