Noun is a part of speech. Parts of speech are categories by which every single word in the English language falls into (e.g., noun, adjective, verb).

You might be getting confused because an appositive phrase is a type of noun phrase, which is a phrase that plays the role of a noun by describing a person, place or thing. This time, rather than being a singular word, it is a phrase, or a group of words. In particular, it is a phrase that modifies, describes or further specifies another noun or noun phrase. "my dog, a four legged ass whole, ate my cheese"

dog is the noun

a four legged ass whole is the appositive phrase

Think of it as more details to describe a part of a sentence

BTS, a 7 member group, released a new album

"a 7 member group" is the appositive

*feels proud for remembering what this is even though it came up like once in high school or elementary*

it gives the noun a different name

I was talking to her, Nancy, about blah blah.

the noun is "her" but "her" is also Nancy, the appostive phrase.
