Lol you stay obsessed with Bts. Just admit you're a stan Adda.

He's honestly right tho, I mean this has been an on going thing for a while now.

Yeah, I'm honestly side-eyeing the fact that it's nowhere to be found on main page. I don't think it ever made it to the actual main page of naver. It was main page on the Entertainment section for part of the day and now gone. It's so bizarre because the same stories that were on the main page yesterday are still there and it's for stuff like... teaser trailers of an episode of a drama. Whereas BTS literally made history in the United States, and it's already gone.

I hate being too ~conspiracy theorist~ about it, but I appreciate that an actual Korean who works in the industry noticed how stupid it was, too.

silent? according to this post, the broadcast stations aren't silent at all, at contrary.

https://onehallyu.com/topic/583578-the-reason-why-big-hit-doesnt-do-much-mediaplay/

There is a difference between articles being written (there were many), and those articles being featured prominently on the main page of naver so that people who don't seek out the news see it.

You know this, but of course you just wanted to get a dig in. Tragic really.

this guy, who collaborated with Big HIt ( and probably wants to collaborate more) is crying that media didn;'t report the news, but obviously he didn't search. Armys posted on OH alot of news translated from korean sites.

The point is these articles aren't located in a section wherein the GP would see them - unless you go out of your way to search for these articles as a fan. There's a reason why Big Hit has been tweeting them and Korean ARMYs have been encouraging international fans to like/comment on them in hopes Naver could see it and pin it in a visible area for the whole day (and not the random 30mins - 1 hour they usuaully give lmao)

It's nice he's looking out for BTS, but at the end of the day it's a matter of how much the media is paying attention, and how much the public cares about any idol group's international achievements. I don't see much value there. At the end of the day sales speak for themselves and BTS are already concert finishers. The industry knows their worth, they're gonna be fine.

He didn't say "completely silent", he said "too silent", and specificially mentioned news articles pinned to the front page. Everyone knows that if it were another group, the mediaplay for this achievement would be out of this world.

But whatever, BTS got where they are on their own strength - like that Korean journalist said, they did it without "holding hands with broadcast companies", which is rare and something to be proud of. This treatment from news websites as well is something they're used to.

i thought their achievements were being broadcasted on national news tho?

if not, it wouldn't be too much to throw out some cash and pay reporters to write about it. it's a big achievement after all

Yea it's being broadcast on the news.

Online sites are bit more difficult tho

Suffice to say, Korea doesn't watch much news on TV and mainly rely on Naver to check news updates so while thse mentions were great, they're very small in the bigger picture of things.
