south korean idea of beauty?

are they really obsessed with plastic surgery over there and getting everyone to fit one certain type of face, or is that just a rumor?

i remember reading that the majority believed it was more important to be as beautiful as one could without conforming to any preset standards of attractiveness? was that true or nah.

It is true lol I'm not sure what their besuty standards are but they usually adore double eyelid, small face, dislike square jaw, and of course pale skin

All I can say is that there has definitely got to be some sort of lookism issue over there.

lookism is definitely an issue but that doesnt mean its correct to make lazy and overexaggerated generalizations like "all koreans are obsessed with ps"

just by hanging out around myeongdong area and seeing all the skincare & beauty stores one next to each other (i'm talking about probably a HUNDRED) you could see there's some issue going on there. i literally saw an etude store and there was another store RIGHT infront of it, holding THE SAME PRODUCTS.

Yeah, there are certain features that are considered A+ (pale skin, small face, double eyelids etc.) but there are a bunch of people who defy those ideals and still get a lot of love. So yes but no, kind of.
