iKON’s Bobby Says He’s Confident He Could Win “Show Me The Money†Again

iKON’s Bobby recently sat down for an interview, in which he was asked how well he would do if he went on “Show Me The Money†again.

“I could win,†he explained. “Although the winner of ‘Show Me the Money’ is a big honor of which I’m thankful for, I don’t want to be satisfied with just that. Rather than being arrogant, I want to start from the bottom [again] and humbly perform my music. That’s why I want to be called rapper Bobby rather than the winner Bobby.â€

Regarding “Show Me The Money 6,†Bobby expressed his regret at being unable to watch the sixth season due to busy preparations for his solo album. He stated, “If I had gone out on Season 6, if I had the same amount of desperation, I think I would have won. Although I am the winner of the third season, I am always improving.â€

The idol also said that he had listened to the show’s most recent tracks and commented, “I’m not the type to think about rankings much. Although I like it if there are good results, I don’t want to do music as work. I want to enjoy doing music until I die so I would be satisfied if fans can understand what I want to express through my albums.â€

Bobby recently released his first solo album “LOVE AND FALL,†with double title tracks â€œI Love You†and “RUNAWAY,†which have been receiving a lot of love.

He won it when he was 18yo and he has only improved since then. He has the same confidence and drive to do better as then but with more experience. He is rapper, singer, lyricist, composer, producer Bobby now.

he improved a lot

esp his lyrics

He really did. Besides the content of his lyrics which is more mature, he also improved the flow of the words, the rhymes, even without knowing korean, the lyrics sound catchy. And just look at this, his name is everywhere, he really did all of this.

His album is pure gold really, imagine if he released it right after SMTM, when he was the "nation's trainee".

But then again like he said he improved a lot so maybe if he produced an album back then it wouldn't be as good. I just wish it was more promoted and more people gave it a try.

His main issue on SMTM was breath control and pacing himself, he'd often run out of breath and struggle to finish off some of his bars which just fucked up his flow - it's really obvious in parts of Go and YGGR

From what I've seen he seems to have cleaned all that up so I have really no reservations calling him one of the best idol rappers currently active at the moment. I'm indifferent towards ikon but I've always thought Bobby's rapping had a lot of style and his technique seems to be improving so that's good to see

His only issue with SMTM3 was his breath control and his pronounciation but he's been working on that for years and has tremendously improved so I also have no reservation that he can win. His improvement + his insane stage presence and how he controls the crowd? He definitely can win again no problem

He knows that his flaw is his pronunciation. Yang hyunsuk noticed that too. So he really paid attention to bobby during new kids begin. And even to a noob like me in korean, when i look at the lyrics while listening to his current rapping, i can get what he raps

I dont really see comments from koreans talking about his pronunciation much from the recent releases. I used to see many criticize him on that.

Im glad he's (and ikon) in general very self aware of what they are lacking

The fact that even after debut, they still live at yg training center (besides the fact that it's literally in front of their apartment lol) speaks a lot tbh that they are hardworkers. Even ex trainees acknowledged their attitude.

His stage presence was a big plus.

I watched a performance of a song, Red Sun by SMTM6 winner, I think? and he reminded me of Bobby somehow

Yes, I liked Red Sun's performance so much. I think it was the best SMTM6 performance. No doubts about Hangzoo winning the season. :)

Bobby's stage presence was already insane 3 years ago, especially during YGGR. I can't imagine how he will deliver his performances if he ever joins again.
