Do college students really spend all day doing homework?

as a college student who is taking 16 units, i always find it weird some students who only take like 3 classes are telling me they have to do homework all day

do you think these people are procrastinators? i usually get my homework done in 2 hours or less a night and my classes are kind of a lot of work.

I only have 3 classes and do spend all day doing homework~ Animating isn't something that just takes 30 minutes~

This. Depends in the major/degree/whatevs it's called. I'm majoring/whatevs in lit so I just have to read most days

as someone taking five courses this semester, i do spend at least half of my free time in a week doing homework. when you get to advance courses that require more than the bare minimum, then you'll understand. i mean, i'll have 3 assignments for one class due on the same day. there's literally no time to procrastinate.

Some people actually take more than one major so the fact that they are unable to get their work done in two hours in no way correlates to the fact they are are procrastinators. Or you just learn differently in a way that is not convenient or not enough for others, speaking from personal experience.

I'm not sure if units are the same as credits or what (in the US one class can usually equal between 3-5 credits depending on if it has a lab, most students take about 15 credits a semester-the most I've taken is 19), but at different periods during my time in college I spent a different amount of time doing homework, studying, and working on projects. Towards my final semesters it was definitely more intensive (mainly because I was writing my undergrad thesis).

IMO there are just lots of different variables that go into the amount of study time needed.

for one class, i have 152 pages of reading and 4 hours of viewing (watching/analyzing film). for another class, i have to read macbeth in two days. i have a 6 page paper due friday i'm taking 18 credit hours and i lowkey feel like i'm gonna die haha

i would just skip the readings all together and google some chapter summaries if we have to do a test in class on them. thats what ive always done and it works out pretty great. then i always put videos/podcasts in the background while i do my other homework if i have to watch/listen to something for a class.

6 pages is super easy to crank out in a few hours, like really thats not bad at all so dont stress!

Well college is not about homework you know

Most of the time students are studying rather than doing homework, the only "homework" I know from college is essays which are important as a researching exercise

And of course reading which is NOT HOMEWORK, it is like basic stuff to do in college

some but for my classes, if you want good grades, you have to study all night. Sometimes they all give assignments in one day youll end up having no sleep. We have requirements for QI and Community too and those are quite a lot.
