Should BTS have said NO to Chainsmokers collab?

Do they not care about social issues? Chainsmokers have had their fair share of controversy.

One example would be Lorde turning down David Guetta!

“No,†Lorde said when her manager, Scott Maclachlan, told her that Guetta was looking to collaborate. “F—k no. He’s so gross.†The producer’s last album, “Nothing But The Beat,†included tracks with Sia, Nicki Minaj, Taio Cruz, Usher, Chris Brown, Akon, Jessie J and Jennifer Hudson.

“I love pop music on a sonic level,†Lorde told Rolling Stone. “But I’m a feminist and the theme of her song [‘Come & Get It’] is, ‘When you’re ready come and get it from me.’ I’m sick of women being portrayed this way.â€

“That if you have an opinion about something in music which isn’t 100-percent good, you’re a hater, even if you have perfectly reasonable grounds for that critique.â€

Lorde is a feminist? ugh at least her songs are good

??? There's nothing wrong with that. Lorde hasn't said anything offensive in the name of feminism. And frankly, you suddenly hating her because you just heard she's a feminist is kind of shallow.

Why are you using Lorde as an example when she collaborated with Chris Brown, with all his domestic abuse charges, and Nicki Minaj, who literally released a video where she dressed up like a Nazi?

But anyways, there are way too many threads popping up about this comeback already, it's barely even been a day.

I kinda want to know if they know about the controverses themselves.

Same thing with all those idols who said they stanned chris brown for example (stanning is different then a collab ofcourse but still)

What chris brown did is so much worst tho. How can u put the two in the same sentence. I literally want to puke every time an idol say they like cb.

The chainsmoker on the other hand are just 2 dumb jocks.

the fact of the matter is, overall this collab was a business move for more publicity. some of the members (mostly rapmon) have expressed their genuinely like of the chansmokers as artists, but that doesn't represent the entire group's mentality. collabing with any noteworthy foreign artists is a good move in my honest opinion. the collab wasn't even something they really spent a lot of time working together on. it honestly seems like the chainskmoker guy just sent them a sketch of a song and they edited it to what fit their style.

I definitely I agree on that. I'm not trying to compare those two but I would like to know if kpop idols/companies research before they agree to collab/say oud loud that they like them. Now I think of it I don't think they care that much cuz korean fans don't really know about those controverses either

I think majority don't know shit about US artists private life or hollywood media headlines. 90% of them don't know English, so how are they supposed catch onto these stories. I also think that because these artists are too far in both geographical and cultural semse, that they simply don't care. They only know the name and the songs and that's all that matters to them.

You guys are aware that korea doesn't know about these controversies? otherwise, why would they love chainsmokers so much but trash their own celebrities when they mess up. Also, Chriss Brown is still used as a model by many idols, but only for the dancing and music. Nothing else.

i feel u but also i hate lordge so whoops.

They want western validation and recognition so of course they were gonna do it but yeah, the Chainsmokers are gross and their music is generic af and it's gonna be bad

song's already out and it's actually really good lmao. also i'm really TIRED of fake concernies talking about bts wanting western validation or w/e when really they're just looking for promo and a good time. rapmon is a longtime fan of the chainsmokers, predating all the 'controversy'. also song's out and it's good btw

No disrespect, but I don't understand why hate you'd feminist or feminism especially when you're a woman yourself.

feminism is a+ in places that need it, like the middle east, africa, and parts of asia/europe, but women of privilege in the west (of all colours and creeds) have kinda... botched the whole ideology lol

i'm not american and i have no idea why you hate Chainsmokers.. but as far as i know artists are mostly respected for their work and not their personal lives, most of the times that is overlooked.. for example Woody Allen. I'm also sure that you don't really care, you just hate BTS 's success today.

Not an Army, but I certainly think BTS deserves better than the Chainsmokers. Let's not even talk about the whole eating-dog issue, even musically speaking, BTS can do better than them.
