Even if they don't do handshakes there are lots of Johnny fans who buy multiple copies so even if they added the handshakes I don't think they would sell that much more

Even if Arashi added handshake tickets to their singles I can't imagine that they would sell hundreds of thousands but I don't think they would be that much of an opposition and even without special extras added on I don't think there would be that much of a difference if just the wotas bought the single
So normally I would go with AKB

Of course, it's AKB48, especially if they are releasing a SSK Single, their Fans are known for bulk-buying and Handshake Tickets obviously sell well, but if Johnnys did Handshake Tickets, they might even have the upper hand, we all know their Wotas

I don't think the handshake event is even possible for Arashi...

Arashi can't do it now, unlike AKB they only have 5 members to do it. The time and effort that they'd spent just to sell millions through it... J&A would rather have them do their usual solo activities and that will surely bring much more money to them

But there's no denying that they're using other gimmicks, they have the multiple editions (2-3 editions) and split contents.

Oh, Arashi could do handshakes easily - they would just have to do them kpop way, with a lottery. Then they can decide on how many winners - 10, 50, 100... This actually sells more than regular handshake tickezs with seconds since hardcore fans buy up to hundreds of copies to get better chances - it's usually like 10 copies standard just to get a good chance for an unpopular group.

 

Arashi actually mostly releases just 2 editions - regular and limited, just sometimes 3. 2 editions is pretty standard for most commercial musicians (in times when CD's actually sold it was also standard for western musicians, especially with singles - they would usually have a regular version and versions with different remixes or lives or edits and pretty much all idols release at least 3 - girlgroups usually a lot more.

ah... i forgot they could do it this way too. i kept thinking they only hv 5 person compared to 300+ girls in 48 groups that made it impossible. But using this method, i can really see arashi beating AKB.

Ah that's right! I'm only familiar with the usual handshake events.

I wonder why J&A won't do this then? I want Arashi to have a million selling single...

 

I only included the 3 version thing because of Japonism XD
