Does anyone else have this problem?

Oh gosh same. I'm a nursing student and yesterday we talked about genetics. We watched a video about it and there was a sequence of an animated sperm cell and I was about to fucking burst out in laughter just for thinking it was funnily animated. I'm 19 but I think I'm 11..

And oh my god whenever my mom yelled at me when I was little I started laughing. I didn't want to disrespect her but I laugh a lot when I'm nervous.

I always start laughing before I start crying. So if I watch a sad movie, I will break out into laughter for unexplainable reasons, and then start crying afterwards. I have gotten many weird looks at the movie theater for laughing during a deathscene.

In my case I always want to laugh or smile at the worst times, which I think is just my body's natural response to being uncomfortable or upset. It thinks slapping a happy face on the situation can bridge the uneasiness. Not such a great response when someone else is angry, or you're dealing with sad circumstances though. I usually have to consciously think about what my face/response is when I can feel that urge to smile or laugh inopportunely bubbling up, so I can school it appropriately.

society tells you "don't laugh at this/that or you're __" but honestly i broke that rule so many times without even meaning to. you laugh at what you laugh at. you can't help it and i wouldn't suggest profuse apologies either.
