Hello Counsellor is a pointless program.

After watching this episode especially, I really feel like Hello Counsellor is pointless for people with serious problems. Some of these people really need professional help, because its obvious their thinking is not very safe at all. They should have more individuals from a medical background such as Psychologists on the show, so at least they could explain, why they might be feeling this way and what support is available. They seem to take mental issues really lightly as well, which I dislike. I also find it a bit offensive, that people have to actually vote whether their issue is a concern or not. Well, to most people they will just assume what they think, but to the person going through it, they're still suffering to some extent if they're choosing to go on the show to talk about it. So, even if it has been decided that it is not a concern, there is no real advice for them to follow so that they don't go back to the same situation.

I really feel like nothing is really resolved properly.

That woman who seems a bit reckless with her actions, should have been talked to by people with similar experiences, or be explained to by doctors about the dangers. Also I think the couple needed marriage counselling as well, because it seemed as though they have different expectations. SK is still quite conservative, so her personality won't really be understood either. However, regardless of your background, there is still a responsibility for taking care of the unborn child, she needed more help as it also seemed that her past was also difficult. Family bereavement is a really sensitive issue. Just the whole thing wasn't handled well at all.

The problem between her older sister/younger sister was clearly abusive. I was shocked how they really had nothing to properly, say to the older one. It doesn't seem like anything was actually resolved at the end, everything just seemed forced. It was just them accusing each other and it would have been better if there were more witnesses/proof to back up what was being said.

Also, inviting idols/celebrities is the worst, because most of the time they can hardly say anything because they care about their image far too much, so they don't say anything that may be deemed controversial. If society (especially younger people) might feel inspired if they could offer their own perspective, and experiences much more deeply. Maybe some of the audience members could also be more involved. People may stop, when they realise that their behaviour is actually unacceptable in society. Some do this, because they seem to be deluded, that their abuse is actually alright, because of the people that are around them.

The issues raised on this program does not suit variety.

They need to change the format.

Peoples problems/issues are not supposed to be someone's entertainment.

True. I find this show interesting and I watch it occasionally/ I have the time... But I hope they do get REAL counseling at the end of the show. A lot of the issues here are covered up mental issues... and living in an Asian country, I realize most of them probably just see it as a "familial" problem, not a social issue...

I noticed that the person with the issue, can't really say too much either because its made to feel, like they are a weird person going through it, and should be ashamed. Truthfully, it could happen to anyone, so they don't really have the right to make fun of them for being this way. There are so many factors which influences a persons perspective on everything and how they are as a person.

For example, there was an episode where a guy would keep stuffed toys and treat them like his friends, to me that person would need professional help, but he was sort of being made fun of. Some people already know, that others will make fun of them, most of the time they just want some form of acceptance.

the concept of the show itself is so bad imo like, the audience judges whether the participant's concern is valid or not... ohdearplz.png ohdearplz.png ohdearplz.png

also yeah, some of the cast's responses to the participants are terrible; some are exactly what my psych professors specifically tell not to do lololol i hate that show

I guess a country can only have so many people with problems they're willing to talk about on nationwide television.

I used to be really into this show but it's definitely turning into something else now. Some issues really are intriguing and interesting but yeah, most of it is indeed pointless. The idols barely get any screentime either.

some of the light-hearted concerns are funny and entertaining however like you said, when people who have serious mental or health issues are not getting the right help it's worrying. Like you have the panel telling them subtly to get over it or that their problems will pass and it's not going to do anything to benefit the person who sent it in. I wish they had an actual professional such as a psychologist for example, so that people who are clearly hurting themselves long term can get REAL assistance rather than some bs advice. I think they should separate concerns that are appropriate for non- professionals to deal with and keep them while directing the other concerns to individuals that will give accurate and healthy information.

True :( A lot of people there have serious controlling issues too. Very unhealthy. That is how they would view these issues in my country too... Depression is even viewed as you just being a lazy person and a disgrace to the family. No matter how you educate them about what you are going through, you would be viewed as just weird and also be compared to your more successful peers.
