Genuinely, BTS Jin, because he came into it without the skills needed to be an idol and has worked his tush off learning the necessary skills and is doing his best everyday to not disappoint the fans or his group mates.

Also Got7 Jackson, it takes a lot of guts to go from being on the path of an Olympic medal, to going to a different country to follow your risky passion.

Lately... Nu'est.

They worked hard for 5 years but almost nobody cared and when people around them was saying them to give up and all, they throw their pride and went on P101. They always worked hard, stayed humble and finally success to proof themselve. They prooved that if you didn't give up and do your best, one day, you could be rewarded.

Maybe she doesn't count because she's not technically an idol but IU?

She grew up in pretty harsh circumstances, she still worked her best to become the singer she is today. She failed auditions and was scammed but she didn't give up. She has had hate since debut but still didn't give up. She has been sexualized as a minor and shamed for being an adult as an adult but she fights back and stays true to herself, she criticises what happens to her through her clever songwriting.

I don't actually stan her bc I don't like all her music, but I admire her a lot.

When I think of hardworking idols, I always think of Jimin from BTS. BigHit was his only company option. He is incredibly supportive of the members while working tirelessly in the background for several years. When I see him get the spotlight now, like his stage with Taemin or his recent prominence on the vocal intro for HER, I feel proud. But honestly I could say this for basically all of BTS. They are a group of hardworkers.

if Hwang Chiyeul counts as an idol, then him

he moved to Seoul in 2004 with the dream of becoming a singer

made his debut several years later but his company sank hard before he ever got a chance to do anything but release a few albums and make like one or two appearances on broadcast

then spent eight years unknown, first as a man who worked odds and ends jobs living in terrible conditions because he barely got by, but continued to pursue his dream practicing, continuing endlessly

things got better when he landed work as a vocal instructor and he'd taught members of Infinite, Hello Venus, Nu'est, After School and Lovelyz

finally appeared in 2015 on I Can See Your Voice as the greatest surprise/turnabout of the episode

was picked up by the Immortal Songs 2 director, then the I Am a Singer (Chinese singing competition among world-famous singers) director

The kind of gratitude he shows his fans is immeasurable; I don't think I've seen other celebrities go out of their ways to chat with their fans outside broadcast stations, in the airport, anywhere he encounters them (until his managers literally have to drag him away after about an hour of waiting). He's a "happy virus" who laughs at almost everything, as if he'd long ago accepted all his hardship and decided it can be overcome; he pours all of himself into everything he does. It's hard to say this about a celebrity since we can only speculate, but from what I can see transparently he puts in the most heart and effort into everything he does. Every song he sings, cover or original, he makes into his own story, something raw, something magical, something that brings me to tears with a single haunting note.

If he doesn't count then Sunggyu just for random little real asf things like fan sightings of him on the street people-watching, and he's not an idol but I'd also like to mention Yoo Ah In for his insight, beautiful public expression and inspirational acting, and profound writing.

my three ults are beautiful souls

Honestly Shinhwa's friendship and loyalty are something i cant never win.

Hoya the one who makes me dance

Beast the one who makes me started to do the cover dance

Minwoo shinhwa makes me believe my passion toward dance

Hongki inspired me in business and designing fashion which this is actually my dream job. (I study bachelor engineer and currently work in production line which i found its bored and not amusing)

Wanna One Kim Jaehwan.

His family is poor, he had to share a very small bedroom with his parents, yet he never complained and said that it's cozy. Jaehwan was a 5-year trainee to debut in a rock band but it did not work out, a very common idol story. After leaving the company, he worked as a waiter to pay for practice room, and trained on his own. I know that most idols went through years of practicing without knowing if they have a chance of debut, but in his case it must have been even more hopeless since he did not have a company. I found his determination to appear on PD101 especially impressive, considering despite his amazing vocals, he had 0 dancing skill. During company evaluation, the trainer asked him to do a freestyle dance, unlike main vocals from last season who just give up and admitted they could not, Jaehwan still gave his all with his grandpa dance.

When he first appeared on PD101, he did not have any make up (until later on Ong helped do his make up and hair) and Mnet did not give him any screentime whatsoever (so nobody ever knew he was such a crazy person until debut lmao). He also had very little clothes that he kept wearing over and over. This might seem petty generally, but visual is the most important factor in a survival show like PD101, especially when each person only got a few seconds of screentime. Nayana choreography was very difficult for almost all trainees from A-F class, but he practiced so hard, being the last one to leave the practice room at early morning, and the first one to come back in a few hours to learn the dance from Sangbin, eventually maintained his B level when most trainees failed to perform the whole song properly. He improved extremely quickly both in his dancing skill and stage presence, executed the dance perfectly and hard carried vocally for any songs given to him. Despite all of the disadvantages, his pure talent and effort (and nothing else because he barely had any screentime other than performances) really got through to the audiences, and happy ending he became the first independent trainee in 2 seasons to win PD101.

and don't forget Ong himself has hopeless experience for debuting as idol for 10 years with his previous company.. he working hard every job as he can do, even gave up his dream for long time to becoming idol

glad fantagio giving him last chance pursued his dream to let participating on broduce

I adore them because of their talents and personalities that them showed on tv, but their back stories make me feel more to adore them
