Kyuhyun: Because in there, they make me as a weird person. They create an image (for me) as ordinary person killer, trainee killer, marital compatibility-dol, thing like that. Thing that is being driven like that is fun and it’s fine in there, but in reality, I am not like that. I make joke well but I don’t give biting remarks as far as that. However, the thing that I really can’t understand is ordinary people or celebrities, they are all same women, but why (people) poke fun of that and separating them? Of course, it’s true that I don’t have ideal type among celebrities. What am I supposed to do when I don’t have (ideal type)?

His whole interview is here. The parts in bold !! Changmin is here too

Kyuhyun's parts from SJ-M Interview with The Star magazine (April 2014)
{*NOTICE!!} This part of interview was done with Ryeowook and Kyuhyun. However, I only translated Kyuhyun’s parts because the magazine images are from Kyuhyun’s fansite and they are more Kyuhyun focused. Ryeowook also answered some of these questions but his parts aren’t completely captured in the images.

The Star: Tomorrow the new song will be made public in China, but how do you feel? Being nervous or being stressed, do you feel that kind of emotion even now?

Kyuhyun: I don’t feel nervous a lot either. It’s something that we had done. The mind preparation is all done already. But when tomorrow comes, I think I’ll be nervous a little. For now, today is calm. Of course, there is an excited feeling. It’s exciting from the point of our repertory that we can present is increasing.

The Star: I suddenly remember from the past interview, that Kyuhyun-ssi said you sang Chinese songs better. Do you also like this time’s title song “Swing

Kyuhyun: Chinese people always tell me that my pronunciation is good. Apart from that, when I sing Chinese song, compared to understanding the meaning of every sentence then sing it, it’s (more) comfortable to understand the flow and then sing. Of course, I like this song (Swing).

The Star: The range of SJM’s activities is like that and Super Junior seems to evolve little by little. At that rate, your worry would be mounting up, but what is your worry these days?

Kyuhyun: In my opinion too, if we each do well in what we’re doing now, I think there is nothing to worry about.

The Star: You two especially are presenting a greater prominence in musical but are there parts where it’s difficult or something that you mind?

Kyuhyun: For me, it (musical) is fun. It is so enlightening. I had done (musical) “Three Musketeers†for about 4 years. (Musical) “Three Musketeers†wasn’t something that I pulled alone, but it was (rather) a work that I tagged along, saying that it’s hard because it’s a play where I had to pull the remainder. I also got cursed out a lot at first, however when I see many people acknowledged me little by little, I am also thrilled. I think I am making a presence as a musical actor a bit.

The Star: What about Kyuhyun-ssi? (talking about the image of a goddess)*note: Ryeowook will be in "goddess is watching "musical*

Kyuhyun: I don’t know though. For me, putting aside (being) good-natured (and) thing like that, I think I look at the (woman’s) forehead a bit. The image of hair being tucked back is pretty. When it’s like that, shouldn’t it make your heart flutter?

The Star: So you like a graceful feeling

Kyuhyun: Dana? I thought you were talking about Dana noona. Haha.

(*graceful/elegant= 단아한 =dan-a-han, which sounds like The Grace’s Dana)

The Star: As now, even when you give biting remarks well as you’re in charge of MC in Radio Star, but why do you get taken aback like that when a talk about woman comes up?

The Star: Haha. In spite of being among MCs who have strong energy, you’re doing well, so don’t worry too much.

Kyuhyun: Because if it’s not like that, I would have to leave. When I look at that, I think I will keep doing this (as RS MC) as long as there isn’t some unavoidable circumstance. I have attachment (there). Because it’s a program that I have been doing for more than 2 years and it helped me out a lot on letting people know my name. Although bad image is piling up a bit lately, I think it just can’t be helped. Although my heart is hurt to some certain degree, it’s fine because when there is something to gain, there is also something to lose.

The Star: Last common question. It coincides with The Star’s first anniversary special issue. What does it take to have a long run like Super Junior, Super Junior-M?

Kyuhyun: To care for each other with people that we work with together? We too, Super Junior, like each other after being together for long time, we know well what we dislike. We all need to become mature. Above all, the mind ,that do it all together, is strong.

The Star: But Kyuhyun-ssi looks really tired today. You look the most exhausted among the members.

Kyuhyun: For a few days, me and (TVXQ) Changmin just came back from vacation at the same time. We played all night long and we slept in the morning. A few days passed like that and even when we came back to Seoul, I have trouble adjusting to the time difference. (laughs) But it’s not that I come for work, I can’t speak somewhere and I’m just silently being tired by myself.

All: Hahaha

So how do you all feel about this interview?

like kyuhyun's mom said, I like him in mamma mia better. but this show that make him popular.

yeah, Watching mamma mia is relaxing but RS has good view rating for that hour frame 11.20 pm. It gets from 7-8.5% compared mamma mia gets only 4% average..But watching RS is like sitting on fire. A lot of fans don't understand that this show is scripted a lot..

Kyuhyun is very mature, he knows what he's doing with Radio Star. He'd pull out of it if he felt it was too much and that he couldn't handle it. Radio Star has given him so much already and if he's satisfied going along with it taking in the good and the bad, then I'm happy for him.

I bet he thinks the korean lyrics he has to sing are pretty stupid half the time... like regular ppl....

This is partly why I listen to kpop, so I don't have to get thrown off by how insipid the lyrics are. XD  But then there's all the engrish....

5 people voted for Portuguese.

Kyu is a very logical person who is fully aware of the good and bad. It's gratifying to know that he's so sensible about the negative side of it. He's made it clear a few times now for people who doubt that the persona we see on RS isn't the real him. Not that it matters to people who choose to dislike him.

I've given up on some fans of idols thinking about the show logically because they are way too sensitive to take it in sensibly. It happens every time an idol appears on the show, someone is up in arms about something, despite not even watching the show. Even when it's wrong, no one cares. Like I saw a few people bashing Kyu cuz he asked Zico about smoking. And that didn't even happen cuz it wasn't him, but I bet he will continue to be hated for baseless reasons like that. But things like that is par for the course when it comes to a show like that.

Certainly, the good for him outweigh the bad and that he's so mature about it is attractive.

He's a grown man, and it sounds like he's weighed the pro's and cons of this all himself, so as a fan, i'm not worried. To those online who say bad things about him because of this "bad image", I think they need to step back and realize this is scripted. Much like you cant read everything online as fact, you can't take everything on a "reality show" as fact either. And frankly speaking, the second anyone lets a biting comment fly, verbally or written, they loose the moral high ground, even if it's "in defense" of another. To make an equally biting remark on someone who can't (or wont) defend themselves is just as bad as the scripted lines being written.
