  3. 3. Will Hyoyeon get back her bomb ass navel piercing ?

  4. 4. Will Yuri finally "Get Right"?

I was just watching this on another thread thinking they'll do fine with the vocals, as long as the songs are not too high or difficult, they can handle it.

even if the song is high, they can handle it

Sooyoung's falsetto and headvoice is decent. Yuri can do it too. as for Hyoyeon idk. never saw her doing falsetto

I hope everybody has watched that fancam of Sooyoung absolutely slaying the You-aholic choreography

Hair all over the place. Now let's imagine a whole stage of that with the 3 of them doing it simultaneously.

My fellow shyt talkers, I have important information.

I have a friend who's kind of an inside fan (he's super reliable, I've known him for years, he's friends with big name and inside fans, works with kpop companies, and has even met snsd several times) and he told me about how SM feels about SNSD sub units. Apparently SM talked about sub units erliear this year and have no desire to do any sub units that don't focus on vocals. He didn't specify if SHY was mentioned but we can only assume SHY is not going to happen. There could be a slim chance of SHY happening if they were focused on vocals but I don't think thats happening. Whether you choose to believe this info or not is up to you. I 100% completely trust what he says because he's always honest with me. He's like oniontaker except he doesn't give vague, cryptic messages. I'm still going to support SHY with the little hope I have, even if it's not going to happen lol.

Ask him if he can drop a few words about SHY, and especially their supporters, into important ears. With references to Onehallyu of course.

Whether or not SHY is in discussion to happen, if a sizable ruckus is made about them, they won't be ignored.

I'm sure SM has heard of SHY by now, and my friend lives in LA so I don't think he could do that :(

*sigh* why does SM think that only vocals matter? lmao

SHY can be successful for their dances and stage presence. there's no need to have killer vocals.

i prefer a good dance performance, instead of killer vocals with half-assing choreographies, tbh

And that's why the old fools will never truly advance anywhere outside of Asia

Pretty girls with passable vocals and little charisma will only get you so far...

The tween to teen market will only get you so far...

Pioneers of k-pop my ass.

THIS.

The reason I got into kpop was because the songs and performances were interesting and fun. I don't want to sit there and see people just stand there and sing with the most basic of choreo and minimal stage presence. I don't care how good your vocals are. If you can't sell it on stage I'm not interested.

SM are idiots. There's such an untapped market in promoting the remaining members musically and they're just ignoring all that potential money as well as alienating a huge chunk of the fanbase (which seems to be getting more tired and fed up from when I first got into Snsd). I mean they could put out 3 different subunits doing 3 different genres/concepts and pull in fans (and their money) from so many different sources. What a waste. Not to mention people wonder why half the girls don't seem interested any more? Why they'd rather go off and do their own thing and take on projects outside of the group? Shit like this. Why put in effort when no matter how hard you work another member is going to get the special stage, the sub unit, whatever.

Preach. If a bunch of nobodies on twitter like us can work all this out, it makes you wonder what the hell is wrong with SM that they can't see it. Like you said, it's so obvious: 3 sub-units means 3 times as much promotion for your biggest girl group. 1 unit can do all the cutesy stuff that fans are turning to APink for, 1 can do the ballad-y stuff that Korea seems to love for some reason, and 1 can do dance/r&b/sexy music that non-SNSD fans would go for. 3 different markets, all bringing in money for your group. Rotate which group does what, do something completely different like Orange Caramel, literally anything could work if they had the sense to at least try.

I definitely agree with you that some fans are getting fed up. I said it myself earlier, I can feel myself slowly losing interest in them and I imagine a lot of other people are. Also this:

doesn't help. Hyo puts in more effort than any of the other members (except maybe Seohyun) and gets shit on constantly by both SM and the fandom. Yet other members half-arse the choreography and barely even attempt to put on a good performance, and they get photoshoots and sub-units and multiple special stages and the fans eat it up. It's disheartening.

Fingers crossed the upcoming Seoul show has plenty of special stages.

SM always plays safe. Instead of taking risks and promoting least popular members in a subunit to potencially attract new fans they just debut a subunit with the members overly promoted on a concept that has been done for ages. The reason I think SHY won't happen isn't because the lack of vocals is because SM would rather play safe and promote members they know will bring money. There's more possibility of a Yoona solo album than SHY tbh

All this is teaching me is to not support TTS so we can get something else and I know SM doesn't want that. Almost everything about SNSD is wasted potential: no English album, missed opportunities for solos, missed opportunities for subunits (HELLO HYOYUL WERE ON DANCING 9 THAT WAS A PERFECT TIME TO DEBUT THEM), missed opportunities to have members on variety, etc. You have NINE members, all with individual fan bases bigger than a lot of Kpop groups. Even a "flop" album by any of them would still sell more than most girl groups. It's just money in their pockets, even with hardly any effort. I've said it once and I'll say it again: SM is #1 by sheer luck. They don't actually DO anything to get their groups so popular, it's the SM name (that SNSD helped to create BY THE WAY) that sells everything now. They haven't done anything on their own by actually trying in years. SNSD is still popular despite SM, not because of them, and you'd think SM would get a fucking clue but they never will. This isn't even about SHY but just in general. It would be nice to see members who actually deserve to be promoted get something to do. I'm getting really tired of this bullshit. Same conversations over and over again. You all probably saw my tweets about it the other day, but I'm starting to get tired of stanning SNSD too. We never get anything new, everything is half-assed, and one of my biases NEVER gets a damn solo activity, not even a fucking event appearance sooooo what's the point anymore? It's not fun watching whatever is happening and it's really not fun watching members who actually act like they give a shit getting pushed to the side and neglected. I can't even think of bad enough things to say about SM because words don't even seem to cover how pathetic I think they are as a company and how they do NOT deserve that #1 spot that SNSD was a MAJOR part in helping them to get, and keep, for this long. I'm beyond pissed and I'm beyond done. idek anymore.
