Who is your bias?: Sooyoung

Why and when did you start liking them?: So in 2008 - early 2009 I used to be an SNSD anti (for dumb reasons). I liked Gee, however. I'd listen to it a lot so one day I was just watching the music video and I started noticing this girl, she was hella pretty. I reeeeally liked her pink overalls outfit. I thought she looked the prettiest, so I'd keep watching the MV and only focus on her. In my mind I was like shit I hate this group but I like her. So I figured I'd only pay attention and keep up with her, so I asked in the YouTube comment who she was, it's Choi Sooyoung. I searched her up and watched Unstoppable Marriage. I like Yuri too. SooRi is funny. Eventually I found my way into the fandom completely. Other than that, I find her, along with Taeyeon, the SNSD member I can relate to the most in many ways.

Memorable instances where you've been proud of your bias?: I think overall I'm proud of her. I love how funny she is, that's probably what drew me to her the most once I got to know who she was.

Why do you like SHY?: SHY were actually my original 3 biases when I first got into SNSD (Now it's SooHyoSeo). They're the best 3 dancers and I love dance. Everything about SHY is just yes.

And what do you want from SHY, performance and achievement wise?: idk honestly. I think if this subunit ever happened they wouldn't be a singing unit, primarily a dance one, so they wouldn't sing and make music like TTS. I just want them to show their absolute best with this subunit.

 How do you guys feel about having projects for a given period to get SHY's name out there?

We already have the K-con project.

i just realized Sooyoung would be a main vocal...for once

 

i think it would be something like this

 

Hyoyeon- main dancer, main rapper, sub vocal

Yuri- visual, main dancer, lead vocal, rapper

Sooyoung- maknae(lol), main vocal, lead dancer, lead rapper

 

as for the leader, idk. it seems that SM always gives that title to the oldest member but we all know Sooyoung has the best leadership skills

I was thinking the same thing, Sooyoung is a potential main vocal for this unit. I don't think Hyoyeon would be a subvocal tho, it'd suck to still have 2 seconds of singing time when you're in a group with only two other people. With the right kind of song, Hyoyeon's vocals could be strong. Her vocals in Goodbye were    I think combining their vocals for a sexy song would work best with their voices. Also I don't think any of them would be rappers or rap. As for the leader, tbh I don't think SM would give anyone that position lol.

I don't agree with positions and labels for S.H.Y. It's one of the prominent causes of friction within fandom. 

In due time, certain expectations will be placed on given roles and when said expectations are not met, or met too much, irritation, anger and resentment will surface among fans.

 

There are no specific roles for the members of TTS. They are all simply vocalists, as SHY are simply dancers. I've only seen fans complain about crazy Locksmiths sidelining Seohyun, never about her misuse, with concern to the groups music.

We will need all our energy to fend off naysayers, not our ilk.

 

That's true. I think the difference with TTS is that since they're all vocals they don't have to have specific roles. The unit was put together to show off all of their vocals so it's not like Seohyun was still the lead vocal, whereas Tiff and Taeyeon (main vo.) got more lines and adlibs still. But with SHY, since they're all subvocals, I think fans want to see how SM would arrange their positions in vocals. You couldn't just give them any song to work with and know their vocals would be 100% perfect for them like TTS, but you'd have to take a more careful approach for SHY. Honestly, if this subunit were to even be formed I don't think they'd be a singing unit, but primarily a dance one.

i wrote sub vocal for Hyo, because i can't imagine her being a lead vocal like Yurisorry, my purpose wasn't to make SHY fans feel that way, i know SM wouldn't give them positions, i was just sort of jokingwe all know who would get the most lines, though. true, TTS were all singers but Taeyeon obviously sang the most.in SHY, i think Sooyoung would sing the most, since she's the best singer of the dance lineagree about the concepthowever, i have to disagree when people say there's no difference between main and lead, because there definitely is.

I agree on that last sentence. I would explain/give examples but I don't want to get off topic.

How much you wanna bet if this unit was formed they'd have a stage featuring Yoona? lol

Besides, SHY will be the new Orange Caramel: no titles, all members treated equally, and the sub-unit will be far more popular than their main group and will sell more records while being more entertaining performers.

Royal family shippers can go suck it tbh. This is an actual potential subunit, not some half-assed unit put together to please crazed shippers. Even I ship yoonsic but I wouldn't want yoonyulsic. In no way would their voices or individual skills fit with each other.

Ask him if he can drop a few words about SHY, and especially their supporters, into important ears. With references to Onehallyu of course.

 

Whether or not SHY is in discussion to happen, if a sizable ruckus is made about them, they won't be ignored.

I'm sure SM has heard of SHY by now, and my friend lives in LA so I don't think he could do that :(

I mean, they could always form the unit after their contract ends, given none of the three leave the company, but I think Hyoyeon would be the only one to stay in SM.
