Who is your bias? Hyoyeon

Why and when did you start liking them? I have a cousin that is a fan of 2pm, she was the one that introduced me to kpop. One day she was watching star dance battle and SNSD were dancing I kissed a Girl + Circus, Hyo instantly caught my attention, she was so baddass and different from the others, I also found her really attractive. After that my cousin showed me Gee and ITNW and Hyo was definitely my favorite so I started watching SNSD's videos because of her. Yuri and Sooyoung stood out for me when I watched RDR. From RDR until The Boys I was just casually listening to their music and watching Hyoyeon dancing videos. After The Boys I started watching them on variety too and became a SNSD stan

Memorable instances where you've been proud of your bias? I'm proud of Hyoyeon for getting through the pre The Boys eras with a smile on her face and never giving up

Why do you like SHY? They are my OT3 and I think they are the best performers and funniest members

And what do you want from SHY, performance and achievement wise? Their solo stages are usually sexy and powerfull without being slutty or forced I think as a unit I would like to see that from them. As for achievements being known for what they have to offer and not being only "one more SNSD subunit". Getting the general public to like them and not only SONEs

I think Yuri is just tired doind the same thing performing the same songs as SNSD, they really should put her on a subunit I think she would get her passion backm She seemed so happy doing the ma boy stage with tiffany and during the no breathing promotions

SM always plays safe. Instead of taking risks and promoting least popular members in a subunit to potencially attract new fans they just debut a subunit with the members overly promoted on a concept that has been done for ages. The reason I think SHY won't happen isn't because the lack of vocals is because SM would rather play safe and promote members they know will bring money. There's more possibility of a Yoona solo album than SHY tbh

I know I probably should be the last person saying this since I was the one who started all of this, but because of the amount of out-lash and anger the information I shared caused I'm a bit hesitant to share any other inside info on SHY. I'm sorry that this whole thing caused so many to feel hurt and angry. I probably shouldn't have posted it. This thread has turned into everyone pointing fingers at SM and their artists when it should be about supporting SHY no matter what. Honestly I'm a bit scared of this thread right now.

we already had infinite reasons to get angry at SM, what you said really didnt create anything new, it was actually fine compared to how I got pissed at SM for other reasons

How did Tiffany choose SHY?

 

I mean, I know it's random, she could choose anyone from the non-subunit members, and yet she chose exactly SHY.

And she mentioned about their stage presence in dance. She acknowledged that SHY would be perfect for an R&B and dance-heavy subunit.

Did she recognize any of our movements in letting the world know about how slayage SHY could be?

I'd like to think that way.

You know i'm all up for SHY but honestly speaking...don't you think they would flop? We all know they're not the most popular members in SK. That's why i'm a bit afraid

they will only flop if SM gives them awful music. They dont have fandom support that TTS has but they still are SNSD members so the hype is already there. I always give the example of Soyou. She wasnt the most popular member and didnt even have half of the fandom support any snsd member has but she released something that the public loved and slayed the charts. The only thing I'm afraid for them is the music. Not popularity or vocals these stuff can sell but in the end music sells better just look at TTS'S digital sales lol even TTS "flopped" a little this time. Koreans werent really feeling Holler but they still won some music shows because of album sales wich means fandom support. I think if SHY gets good music they will be fine. Its all about the music guys. Popularity only sells a certain number = fandom size

yes, i agree with you. but what if they don't start quite well and SM immediately gives up on them, instead of trying again? =S

well that can happen, but we will never know if they don't try first. I feel like if SHY ever really happens we will have to come together to get as much support from ksones we can get.
