Words escape me when it comes to describing how much I love Serendipity. I feel like I'm floating on a cloud of happiness and love and that 'butterflies in your tummy' feeling when I listen to it. The change in the beat when he says "Just let me love you" legit turned me into a blabbering mess. I clutch my chest every time it comes around because it's like I'm being dragged into this whimsical emotional fest and my heart's gonna burst out of me if I don't try to keep it in.

 

Song of 2017 tbh. And can we talk about the cinematography and Jimin up in this bitch being the sun to my moon, talking about destiny being jealous of us, the universe moving for us, and asking me to let him love me......

If we're going purely song and vocal wise, I have to go with Serendipity. Jimin has worked incredibly hard on his vocals and it's restrained in Serendipity because of the sort of song it is but he sounds absolutely beautiful and that mixed with Namjoon's lyricism is so wonderful.

 

Lie is still going to be incredibly special though, more special than Serendipity because it's Jimin's first time writing a song and his first solo after years of just wanting to hear him sing a cover, but they all upgraded their talents and you can hear it in Serendipity so I have to go with that. 

 

Now if Jimin were to ever perform Serendipity, that would be a poll for another time cause I would love to see it but Jimin being lifted into the air like the angel and king he is and seeing it in person is spectacular. It would be hard to beat.

I love both but Serendipity is that bitch. The vocals, the lyrics, the melody, the beat, everything about it makes me wanna listen to it over and over again. I actually woke up today with that song in my head.

I can't choose. Lie was an amazing song for Jimin, and it showed a style that I feel no member of BTS has done before.  But Serendipity shows off his vocals a lot more, and it really just shows how much more comfortable he is becoming.

damn. okay i actually typed out a rant but imma go with something simple. i loved serendipity on the first listen, and i was super impressed by the atmosphere of the song, the emotion, the cinematography, but lie leaves a more lasting impression - which is most likely because i relate to the way jimin emotes in the song more.

 

BUT I LOVE BOTH. can't wait to replay serendipity when i get home later

I really love both, Lie is a sexy nasty bop and Serendipity is a stuff animal in song form. Lie is some baby making music and Serendipity is what you sing to that baby when they need to go to sleep.

Both are masterpieces and I couldn't pick one over the other. I'm loving Serendipity more and more with each listen though and if Jimin performs this live with contemporary dancing, it might just overtake Lie.
