So far only Black Pink, Twice, and CLC have debuted in Japan

There have been rumors of Gfriend, Red Velvet and Dia debuting in Japan.

There was an article about Gfriend looking into Japanese advancement that came out in the  beginning of January. However, buddies have not heard anything about Japanese debut since then.

Dia had an article about them signing a contract with a Japanese agency for lots of money awhile back. Joeun has popularity with Japanese AID. However, with Somyi and Yebin on the Unit now its unlikely they will debut in Japan for at least another year.

Saw some Red Velvets on OH mentioning about Red Velvet debuting in Japan soon. Don't know how reliable those members are.

Dreamcatcher and Lovelyz both have concepts and images that would do well in Japan. Lovelyz with their innocent and sweet image is very girl next door. Dreamcatcher with them being like a dance version of Baby Metal, would do very well in Japan. Dreamcatcher is going on world tour soon so maybe after they are done touring they will debut in Japan.

I don't know with the Lovelyz's Yein incident if that will delay Lovelyz Japanese debut.

Unlikely Oh My Girl  and April will debut in Japan anytime soon since they are focusing on solidifying their position in Korea. Though I think April might be able to capitalize on old Kara fans.

Mamamoo could be a dark horse and do well but I haven't seen anything about them debuting in Japan either.

Thoughts and opinions on groups that would do well and should debut in Japan.

Please be civil and don't bash any groups.

I also think Dreamcatcher should give it a try in japan. It's so hard to find an audience for the pop rock sound in korea. Does anyone of you remember A-Fati? They have fantastic songs in my opinion, but they just have no audience in korea.

Japan is way more open to these sounds and rock influenced pop is completely mainstream there and i think Dreamcatcher could find a decent amount of fans in japan.

...Dreamcatcher with them being like a dance version of Baby Metal...

That sounds kind of funny smile.png Babymetal are known as the ones who brought choreographed dancing into metal so its kind of strange to say someone is a dance version of them^^
