How do you get over someone?

Title says it all. How have you guys gotten over someone you liked/love? I started a different thread in this section last week asking about something and I got really helpful and friendly responses from people. I hope this hasn't been posted already but I tried checking and nothing came up...please let me know if a similar topic has already been made :)

Think about all the horrible things they did and what you didn't like about them.

^

+ remove everything about them from your life (some people don't like this because they like to keep photos, etc, but really, it keeps an attachment by doing that)

+ doing things w/ other people (some people like me have urges to make out and etc once single)

----

I did those things the last time, and it helped. I still love him (kinda back together), but it cut my grief in half and I had a lot less worries.

Love Hyoyeon.

Already do <3

time

Time.

Of course time is needed. How to pass that time?? :)

Simple, by finding someone new :)

Was thinking of this but I'm concerned I'll only be 'using' that other person to get over someone else...

It depends from people to people, but in my case I just continued my life while pretending everything was okay, and then one day I fell in love again, and everything was forgotten...

Good luck

life is short..just don't stay in your room and feel sorry for yourself.. you deserve a better life.. with or without him/her.. if you are not ready for a new relationship, don't push it.. enjoy life as it is.. .

what if they didnt do anything horrible to you? and you actually did the mean thing to them?

What if they said some unjustified horrible things that they claimed they didn't mean and then proved to you that you did mean something to them??? This is complicated...

Be surrounded by people who understand your situation (or at least have empathy for you) and who support you. Friends, family... It's not the same than getting over someone alone . But keep in mind that you also have to be autonomous and not too much dependent of your appreciated ones, you have to be grateful to the fact that you can count on them. And don't be awkward, okay? Good luck.

You have to accept the fact that it's going to take some time. I don't know how long, but with time you'll get over that person. Perhaps you'll always have a piece of that person with you, but after a while, you'll be able to move on with your life. Good luck!

Well it depends

1) Getting over someone after breaking up from a long relationship :Time heels it SLOOOWLY.

2)Getting over someone who didn't give a damn about you ; it hurts at first, but then you'll realize stuff.

3)Getting over a crush or someone you would have never had a chance with anyways
