When you stop being a fan

I remember being a fan of B.A.P. Next to JYJ they were one of my main biases in kpop but then the lawsuit happened and they went back to TS, I was really angry because why would you go bak to a toxic place that only hurted you? I remember bashing them at least two times and the fandom once and I realized, isn't stupid to bash someone you used to like, attack and offend a fandom you used to be in only because you are in the opposite fandom? I also lused to ike INFINITE but I don't remember bashing them, I have been angry at SONES because of Jessica but I also have been angry at Golden Stars because of SNSD.

One of my main biases had this really big scandal and I remember writting comments while crying, being so mad at everything because my heart told me one thing and my head another. I thought I was really an awful person because most of his fans were on his side but there was me, against him. That was the second time I bashed a fandom I used to be part of it but most of the times I tend to avoid them (and I fail a lot)

Anyway, what I want to say it's: If you stop being part of a fandom and you become a part of a fandom you used to bash on, would you pay attention to your past fandom? You know, being in their threads, insultimg them and etc. I mean, at least with my ex bias I feel so weird about it and I tend to check his threads and sometimes I end up closing them really fast.

What do you do when you stop being a fan?

I used to Stan bap too but I seriously couldn't support them anymore after they went back to TS entertainment and I just gradually lost interest in them tbh at the end of 2014 and sometimes I tried to lurk in their threads and give them another try but I couldn't and it felt weird but I definitely don't insult or talk bad about them and It's funny because I used to dislike exo before lol

if people lose interest, why are they more into their business than when they were fans

The group I sort of stanned before I got into EXO and Red Velvet, I wish them the best of luck. They may not have music I'm interested in but I'm glad that they are successful and its nice to see they make their fans very happy

I liked bap before getting into exo tbh

I didnt even know exo excited lol

I never stanned them but like I really liked them back then and even though their music isnt as appealing to me as before I still check on them

I check the new stuff of every group I used to like before like best, infinite...

aren't you too harsh? idols are human after all, they're not perfect dolls that we want them to be

For groups I "unstanned" it's just that I lost interest

I don't feel compelled whatsoever to keep up with them or their fandom (the most I'd do is check out a new MV). I feel people who do that haven't really let go. I know some ex-fans of SNSD actually watched their entire Phantasia concert (2+ hours) just to bash the members lmao...I just find that sad.

Wow I've never gotten deep enough into the kpop fandom to actually cry over a group. Kpop groups come and go. Its a business that goes both ways. You have to keep releasing stuff your fans like or you lose fans. Simple. Once I unstan I still respect them as an artist and singer, but I don't bother checking their stuff out unless I feel nostalgic

Hmmm... exo is the first group i hard core stan tbh. I used to like cnblue and I used the dislike exo, but i never bashed them openly. I just made fun of them before and teased my sister.. i just lost interest in cnblues music, its not the same anymore for me..

I understand not being a fan anymore, tastes change, things happen, life goes on. But the bolded part - literally who does that? And what's even the reason? If you actually do that, it doesn't really show a person that has moved on, quite the contrary, it's like a kid throwing a tantrum because their toy is broken and they can't move on to enjoy a new one.

I've seen a lot of people do that, and the worst thing is that the people that once said that they still liked them. I know this girl that changed fandoms because of how bad her past fandom used to be but she's always in their threads and it's not only her but a lot of people. It's like they are mad because they didn't seem affected by them going aways and not floping as they hoped.

Maybe you hit the nail on the head. People just crave for attention, at the end of the day. It's just like all these people threatening to leave OH all the time and yet, here they are, still.

Yes. I mean, I know that you sometimes leave your bias for things that are bigger than you (mostly scandals) so there's a part of you that still holds into a little hope but when you leave them because they aren't putting pictures in twitter/instagram, aren't releasing music or other things... why would you still be in every thread if you are in a fandom that 'feeds' you more? I guess you are right and they like the attention and complain about the negs.
