In response, their fan cafe manager announced a new set of rules that prohibited fans from smoking or drinking at any of their schedules.

“Hello, this is the manager of Cosmic Girls’s fan club.

In regards to all Cosmic Girls fan signing events and public broadcasts hosted by Starship Entertainment, any form of drinking alcohol is completely forbidden at any and all events with U Jung (fandom name).

In the case of an event becoming inconvenienced and disrupted due to drinking, people will be forced to leave, and there will be a disadvantage to your attendance, so please be considerate.

We couldn’t comprehend or recognize the drinking problem at Cosmic Girls’ recent fan signing event, and we apologize for the inconvenience we caused to fellow U Jungs.

If you ever see a fan causing disruptions or drinking at Cosmic Girls’ fan signing events, public broadcasting schedules, or on a set, please inform the fan cafe manager.

We will try our best for a cleaner, desirable fandom.

Thank you.â€

Cosmic Girls has faced some problems at their past fan signing events, where some male fans went too far. One fan made Bona cry by using a fake cockroach to scare her to tears…

…while another made Eunseo cry for saying she looked like Swedish soccer player, Zlatan Ibrahimović.

Hopefully, Cosmic Girls and U Jungs don’t have anymore incidents involving inappropriate fans.

How can these people even be called fans, if they are harming or insulting their idols then I don't consider them fans

exactly. Its ridiculous to me they bother spending money on all these albums, concert tickets etc yet when they get the chance to meet their idols they treat them with such disrespect.

poor girls. At least the managers are stopping this from happening againwarstarplz.png

It would seriously hurt my heart so much if I made my favourite idols feel uncomfortable or hurt in any way. I really can't understand why you would make someone you support and care for feel bad

I'm sure WJSN is not the only group to attract shitty fans, but there's already been multiple situations that their male fans have made the members cry wtf.

No but this is the first time i saw drunk fans going to a fansign lord

I'm glad the incidents were more tame than what I feared upon reading the thread title, but still, don't act toward an idol or celebrity in a way you wouldn't act toward another person

I believe the rationale behind bizarre fan behaviour is that they see idols as characters more than actual people, and they want to provoke an endearing reaction out of them for their own entertainment. for some fans their interest in the idol they like doesn't go beyond their own desires so they don't see any issue in scaring them, bothering them, saying weird things to them, etc. it's selfishness

another reason I think people pull weird shit is because they think it'll make them memorable to their idol. of course I personally wouldn't want to be remembered as "that freaky asshole who was a dick to me" but some fans are so desperate for acknowledgement from their faves that they think anything is worth it so long as they're remembered. again, another kind of selfishness

you don't have to tiptoe around celebrities or be formal and overly polite to them, but ffs, don't say or do anything you wouldn't do to your friend, family member, or even a random person you bump into on the street. most people would agree you're being crazy and offensive in such situations, so why do some fans think it's okay in other contexts?

Tsk, typical male fans

lol that it's totally fine to trash female fans for acting like lunatics but the moment someone calls male fans out on their shit they get downvoted

male fans are every bit as bad as female fans, just in different ways. even if we want to sidestep the numerous incidents of male fans blatantly grabbing onto or threatening idols while on stage, including the ones who have gone so far as to carry out violent crimes on idols, there are so many instances of male fans engaging in unacceptable behavior towards female idols. just being a fan of twice alone should give you insight into how shitty male fans can be.

i'm surprised alcohol was ever allowed at these events to begin with. it's a totally inappropriate environment for it.

There are also a lot of playfully rude fan/idol interactions and they are always difficult since you never know if both people involved see it the same way. For instance when fans give idols notes with questions and the idols respond with witty/rude answers.

we can never know both side of the stories! i remember when Eunseo jokingly told a fan to die in a note! but she did got backlash for it,..
