Naoto Nakamura, better known by his stage name Naoto Inti Raymi is a Japanese singer-songwriter. He initially debuted with Sony in 2001 under the stage name Naoto, however rose to fame in 2010 when he transferred to Universal Music. "Inti Raymi" is Quechuan (Incan language) for "festival of the sun."

Naoto began writing songs in his second year of junior high school, while playing soccer in a junior youth team for Kashiwa Reysol. In high school, Nakamura started producing demo tapes of his songs, and performed street lives in Kashiwa City. In 1998, he formed a band called Freeman. The group managed to sell 1,800 copies of their demo material around the Kashiwa area, however in 1999 he started solo activities (including a performance at the Apollo Theater in New York).

Nakamura Naoto began his music career in 2001 and debuted with Sony Music Entertainment with the single Growing up!!. He released three singles in total with Sony and one album in 2002. Three years later he changed his stage name to Naoto Inti Raymi and released two indie singles and one mini-album using his new name spaced out over a span of four years. His career finally stabalized and he began to gain popularity when he debuted under Universal Music with the single "Carnival?" Since being with Universal he has released several singles and two albums, his most recent charting at #3 on the Oricon weekly charts.

I've recently finished listening to Nice Catch The Moment and it's a solid release but definitely may have enjoyed both Adventure and Shall We Travel a tad bit more. It's nice to see him featured especially since Nice Catch The Moment is fresh on everyone's mind.

He's a mixed bag. From this singles you get this idea that's he's some granola, hacky sack dude but then some of his B-sides and album tracks show a different side.

His pre-Inti Raymi stuff is quite hard to find since it's out of print.
