HuffPost Korea tells Jaehwan to be careful about his pronunication

hmmm...it's interesting to see a mature, non-biased korean perspective that acknowledges that jaehwan said something that didn't sound like "naega" to some people and that there's a reasonable basis for international fans misunderstanding what he meant...

k-wannables are of course cussing them out in the mentions and trying to get them to rewrite/take down the article

I can't see the problem even if it sounded like "niga" because it's still a korean word and the sentence still makes senseimstupid.png

Anyways, I hope this dies down asap.

What does title exactly say btw?

Why should Jaehwan have to change the way he says something because Ifans were foolish enough to assume he said something he didn't? Instead of getting on him for his pronunciation, get on irrational Ifans who don't know basic Korean and are defaming his character

If you can't handle a Korean Idol saying naega, than you shouldn't be listening to Kpop

At this point are people even offended from what he said? Or are they offended from the comments people are throwing at each other?

second one. always usually second one. i could care less about what he and other idols said about this (use of n-word and whatnot), but i would def love to slap some ppl on this site

To be fair, I wasn't too concerned with this alleged racism. I am more amused by how wannables willfully neglect the "p" pronunciation by claiming that he is saying wasseo (and naega)

Just admit it, it's not a huge issue, but this is certainly a very very bad pun.

He did say Naega Wasseop, to be exact Naega Wasseop C"mon (aka I'm Here, C'mon). However the pun was with Wasseo changing it to Wasseop to sound like Wassup, which had nothing to do with the Naega part and is far from implying the N word

That's what i keep saying. This denial is too much. The pun is clearly a word play on how it sound like n*a what' s up. And u can clearly here the p and the i. But somehow because we don't speak korean we are deaf and are supposed to beleive people that wouod defend everything from their fans.

Like i said it already, what he said is just "meh" but the wannable are too much. Stop dismissing other concerns especially if stated politely.

They used a double entendre, like calling a woman a "ho" and saying you actually meant "hoe" the tool which doesn't make any sense.

Even if it was korean why would you even say something like that that's so obviously easy to misinterpret. The core of the issue is they dont respect western fans. They drop down on their knees whenever the precious chinese fans get offended but not western fans. I get its about money but western fans give them a lot of free advertising.

All they need is have one korean american intern to tell them within 5 seconds whether something is offensive to westerners. Oh and have them do eng subs too while they're at it.

He literally said "I'm Here, C'mon". BAP said the same exact thing in the same exact way

So he's not allowed to say something in his own language just because Ifans are to delusional to know basic Korean and instead act like it was towards their language, acting like the world literally revolves around them?

Like I said before, if Ifans (still) can't handle the word Naega, than it's time they leave Kpop

But for real, people need to stop acting like the world revolves around them

You can't call someone else ignorant, but when it's clearly proven he said something else you dismiss it to continue pushing an oppressed agenda

Save that for real race issues. A white supremacist just ran over 20 people, and yet y'all raging over something that an idol didn't even say

welp, you're free to believe in what you choose to believe, i.e. wasseo"p" is borrowing from English, but naega is definitely not.

Also, the explanation on this picture is hilarious. love it how I am now committing REVERSE DISCRIMINATION.

Reverse discrimination is discrimination against members of a dominant or majority group, in favor of members of a minority or historically disadvantaged group..... Reverse discrimination can be defined as the unequal treatment of members of the majority groups resulting from preferential policies
