as of 22nd march 2014, bigbang has debuted for 2773 days. their 3 longest hiatus were between sunset glow and tonight era (789 days), love song and alive era (305 days), and alive till now (693 days). their hiatus period lasted a total of 1787 days, which is nearly 65% of their time since their debut. bigbang only has 2 full length albums.

Solos and individual activities actually didn't make up for the lack of Big Bang.  :._.:

don't get me wrong I love their solo stuff too but it's obvious Big Bang are huge and well loved so I really don't understand why it takes so long for YG acts to do any group activities... I know quality always > quantity, but still. they've been around for a long time and only 2 full length albums?

on-topic: such a shame, but im whatevs. their discography is among the best in kpop if not the best and if multiple come backs were to give us shit songs i dont want that. hopefully we get another alive quality album

at least with their last hiatus they were making original music in Japan but i guess the ton of tours + solo promotions (which in TOP & Taeyang's case were extremely short) the members have been so quiet

Come on now, there were statements made about BB making a comeback this summer. YG needs that cash flow before the boys enlist pretty sure we will get BB this year.

It's true quality > quantity, but I agree. The 2 full length album thing is really surprising. Even with quality being more important, how hard is it to just focus more on creating that quality instead of waiting so long?

I want more BIGBANG, please, YG.

The problem with putting out an album every year is that they tend to be either good, meh, or bad; the last two results almost always have craptastic filler songs, and are a big problem in K-Pop overall.

Almost all of BB's albums are good and are highly acclaimed. Ofc, this is personal opinion no matter who you ask. Regardless, I do wish they put more effort into group activies and stop putting GD out all the time. Taeyang needs some love too!

ikr, i wish they would at least release an original Japanese single, but the chance is almost zero now

Has it really been that long since Alive? Am I weird for not feeling it's that bad? I still miss seeing them all together but I do follow what they are doing everyday so it doesn't feel like such a huge deal for me. But I do need that new album like yesterday! It will be interesting to see them promote in the summer maybe with a song appropriate for the season and maybe just maybe we'll get TOP with short sleeves again! 2 times in a year will be like a feast for our poor deprived eyes

right. it's not like I expect a new album every year like some idol groups churn out since producing things under pressure rarely leads to great results, but 2 is very surprising for a career that started over 7 years ago. minis are fine but I'd expect at least 4-5 full length albums from an act from 2007 by now...

it's great that they're so free to do solo activities (and luckily I think their respective solo stuff has been great) but the group is what enabled them to have that opportunity in the first place, and imo their dynamic is best when they're together. if they're not going to bother with it then what's the point of being in a group? it's not like they're past their peak, if anything they've just reached it.

at least it hasn't been that long since Alive, which was such an amazing album. I have faith that if they can produce that, they could easily come up with a great followup. here's hoping, anyway
