and now, some different drama

I thought a little drama that doesn't have anything to do with anything would entertain at least one person on here.  so, go ahead, make yourself comfortable and grab some popcorn.  this isn't going to be all that interesting, so you might as well have a snack you like.

ok, so this about professional athletes.  baseball players to be exact.

is anyone even left reading this?

well, it goes back to June.  an umpire for MLB (the top baseball league in the world) called his 5,000 game and did an interview because it's a pretty rare thing (only the third person in the 114 years the league has been around).  umpires don't usually give interviews, so the reporter took the chance to ask him which player was the biggest whiner/complainer and he jokingly told them.  now, come forward to earlier this month when MLB decided that was not a good thing for him to do and suspended him for 3 games.  even though the player who was mentioned wasn't offended and didn't see the need for the suspension.

hmmm....ok......  let's go forward a few days to earlier this week.  a player didn't like the strike zone during his at bat and went off on the umpire and was thrown out of the game.  now, this isn't really a big deal, it happens all the time.  umpires get a lot of verbal abuse thrown at them every week.  what makes this a big deal is that the next day the player was still going off about the umpire.

I'm not going to say anything about the umpire in question.  all umpires and announcers are terrible if you are fan.  but if you feel you need to make comments like that, you go off the record.  generally, a player would say something like "I felt I need to defend myself out there" and leave it at that.  saying these things about how someone needs to loser their job will surly get you suspended and then you aren't available to play when your team really needs you.  except that he wasn't.  he was just fined.

so basically, MLB is saying that it's cool for a player to talk shit about an umpire, but an umpire can't make a playful comment about a player?  yeah, the umpires aren't having that.  they are all wearing white wristbands as a protest of the handling of this by MLB.  they say that they are bing verbally abused more this year than ever before and they aren't playing those games anymore.

I for one look forward to more ejections from the game.

it wasn't that boring

I just thought it was a ridiculous double standard that can be seen in places other than kpop.  the world just isn't fair, so I wanted to share.

Thanks for reading. ohbi.png
