Kang Sora Is The Queen Of Part-Time Jobs While Choi Siwon Busts A Move In Drama Preview

The queen of part-time jobs goes up against the king of pop!

In a new preview released for Kang Sora and Choi Siwon’s upcoming tvN drama “Revolutionary Love,†Kang Sora and Choi Siwon go head-to-head to see who can be the best part-time worker.

In terms of efficiency, Kang Sora wins hands-down as she stacks a complicated array of cans in perfect order (with Choi Siwon supporting her on his shoulders) as an impressed grocery store audience looks on. However, Choi Siwon soon gets style points as he dresses up like Michael Jackson while working as a parking attendant. The cars may not like it, but the women go wild!

“Revolutionary Love†is a comedy-drama about an unemployed third-generation conglomerate heir (Choi Siwon) who takes life easy, and a hardworking woman who has trouble landing a permanent job despite her excellent credentials. Gong Myung also stars as a secretary at Choi Siwon’s family’s firm.

“Revolutionary Love†is slated to air in October.

Grabby hands and upbeat spirits for Choi Siwon in Revolutionary Love

byunhyuk_1.jpg

I’m desperately hoping that Revolutionary Love will be a great vehicle for Choi Siwon, because I’ve seen him wasted in too many bad roles and have been hoping ever since She Was Pretty ended that he would get to show that same kind of appeal in a leading role. (The same goes for his co-star Kang So-ra too, come to think of it, who’s shown a lot of talent from within a sea of meh roles, but this post is about Siwon stills so I’m fixated on his history at the moment.)

In Revolutionary Love, Siwon stars as Byun Hyuk (which means revolution, making him an eponymous hero, at least on the Korean side of things), a chaebol disguised as an unemployed ordinary dude who happens to have zero skills in making a living in the real world. That’s a stark contrast with Kang So-ra, who’s an ace at juggling part-time jobs, and Byun Hyuk spends his days without a clear goal, just enjoying himself freely with a romanticist’s spirit and an exceedingly positive energy (though he occasionally displays a spark of temper).

In these newly released stills, we get to see the naive and pure-hearted romantic who knows nothing of the real world. In one scene, he sits with a friend, though it’s not explained why he tries to swipe her purse. The scene with the broom comes from a part-time job, though with that character description I’d put money on him being terrible at it (and, hopefully, hilarious in the process). I kind of love this personality already, all romantic naivete mixed with goofiness and a boundlessly chipper energy. It’s like it was made just for Siwon, and I can’t wait to see the sparks fly when he “crashes his way†into the apartment complex where Kang So-ra lives. Muahaha.

Revolutionary Love comes from the director of Oh Hae-young Again, PD Song Hyun-wook, and writer Joo Hyun of Ms. Temper and Nam Jung-ki. It is set to air as a Saturday-Sunday drama on tvN following the currently airing Live Up to Your Name; it will premiere on October 14.

Kang Sora Is The Girl Crush Of Everyone’s Dreams In New Teasers For Upcoming Drama

Kang-Sora11.jpg&key=cf678a747d06e18f60d9

tvN has released new stills of actress Kang Sora in the upcoming drama “Revolutionary Love†(working title).

Kang Sora will be playing the role of Baek Joon, a hardworking woman who is a master of various part-time jobs, but is unable to land a steady full-time one. In the stills, Kang Sora shows her ability to take on any task and perform like a 30-year veteran. As a hard worker who doesn’t allow any mistakes, Baek Joon delivers heavy containers of water, greets customers in the parking lot, takes coffee orders, and places business cards on car windows.

Her work ethic and life skills are a great contrast to those of her male lead Choi Siwon of Super Junior, who will play a third-generation chaebol. A source from the drama said that Kang Sora’s healthy image and strong acting skills were a perfect match for the role of the refreshing, girl crush, part-time job master Baek Joon, and added, “She will be a legendary fresh, satisfying character you can look forward to.â€

Watch a preview of Kang Sora working one of her part-time jobs in “Revolutionary Love,†with an appearance from Choi Siwon as well!

6. REVOLUTIONARY LOVE

Choi Si Won picks up a romantic treat for his post army project in Revolutionary Loveopposite Kang So Ra (Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul Ho).

You might be interested to know why Choi Si Won is called “A Great Manâ€:

The PD for this production scored last year’s hit Another Oh Hae Young so we are pretty much safe to anticipate its addictive run.  The love tale treads on the trite rich-boy-poor-girl story, where the hero who comes from a rich household, pretends to be a casual employee, and meets the queen of part-time jobs. So yes, we are expecting a romantic buildup along the way.

Revolutionary Love starts loving as TVN’s Saturday-Sunday rom-com delight from October 14 at 10PM.

Making it rain in Revolutionary Love

revolutionarylove-teaser206-1.jpg

Aw, I’m gonna miss these promos. Though I’m sure Choi Siwon’s (She Was Pretty) goofiness will more than make up for the cute. We’re three weeks away from the premiere of upcoming youth romance Revolutionary Love, and tvN has released another teaser for its newest weekend offering.

One of this show’s biggest draw for me is Choi Siwon’s utterly helpless hidden chaebol character who decides to try his hand at living outside his rich bubble, which is bound to make for an adorable relationship with Kang So-ra’s (Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho) veteran part-timer. I can just picture him trailing her around like a duckling, to her unending exasperation.

If their dynamic is anything like what’s shown in this teaser (above), for example, I’ll be a happy camper. The clip starts with close-ups of Choi Siwon looking up at Kang So-ra, and then for some reason, water comes splashing down onto his face and shirt. I love how it’s shot in slow-motion, suggesting some playful, couple-y frolicking, until the music cuts short and the camera abruptly zooms out to reveal that he’s actually wrestling with a water jug, hah.

Mind you, those are really heavy, so I wouldn’t have laughed as much if not for Kang So-ra in the back effortlessly picking one up and slinging it over one shoulder. I admit to giggling a lot at Kang So-ra’s face, ‘cause her expression just encapsulates so much disbelief as she watches him struggle to gain control of his water jug. She walks off after saying, “No, this isn’t it,†leaving Choi Siwon to stare and grin after her. Aww, don’t give up on the puppy!

Revolutionary Love will premiere on October 14 and take over tvN’s weekend slot from Live Up to Your Name.

The innocent ones are coming in Revolutionary Love’s new posters

loverev1.jpg

Hidden chaebol and Candy girl romance drama Revolutionary Love recently released more stills and posters of its three leads: Choi Siwon (She Was Pretty), Kang So-ra (Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho), and Gong Myung (Bride of the Water God 2017). The caption for the poster on top says, “The world’s innocent ones are coming.â€

For this drama, Siwon transforms into a third-generation chaebol who disguises himself as an unemployed slacker. And whilst he’s going about living his secret identity, he meets Kang So-ra, who despite her great education and qualifications, hasn’t managed to secure permanent employment. He’s followed around by his secretary and childhood friend, played by Gong Myung, who is elite in every way except for his birth. Gong Myung dreams of becoming like Siwon, but right now he works as a glorified babysitter for his immature friend, cleaning up the messes that Siwon creates.

I’m going to have so much fun watching chaebol Siwon with zero survival skills struggle with real-world dilemmas like chores and rent. It’ll be like Shopping King Louis all over again, except with the wacky charm that only Siwon brings to his roles. I’m expecting Kang So-ra to be as relatable as always in her role as the righteous underdog super part-timer.

loverev2.jpg

The second poster says, “The hard woooork of the world’s innocent ones,†while showing the three main characters with items in their panels that show off their backgrounds. For instance, Kang So-ra has items related to her countless part-time jobs; Siwon has luxury goods showing his flashy lifestyle; whereas, Gong Myung makes an exasperated expression with stacks of papers on his desk (there’s also a tiny man with a parachute, shorthand for nepotism).

I’m not quite sure what to expect from Gong Myung’s character yet. I like it when he plays the optimistic puppy-dog boy, but the stills below seem to indicate he’ll be moodier than in his previous roles. I just hope that despite his jealousy of Siwon’s wealth and privilege, it doesn’t get in the way of an awesome bromance.

The latest tvN rom-com Revolutionary Love will air on Saturdays and Sundays starting October 14.
