Can you really make your hips smaller through exercicing?

Wide hips are hot. Don't hate them.

 

You cant really spot reduce fat. If you lose weight overall fat from your hips will probably go away as well but if your hip bone is wide you can't really do much. I suggest you do lower body and core workouts to tone them so they look even sexier

It depends if you carry a lot of weight on your hips or if it's skeletal proportions. The latter can't be altered, but of course you can pull focus away from your hips by focusing on building muscle in your butt and thighs. I'm guessing that you're female? Women naturally pack on more weight around the hip area especially as we get older. If it is a matter of extra fat, then I suggest lots of water, low sodium foods, and exercises like lunges, crunches and side bends etc. I also personally love Pilates for mid body workouts. the reason why i hate them is because i have really small waist, so the difference between my hips and waist is really large that my body doesn't like balanced, if i could maintain my waist size and reduce my hips it would be perfect, but i guess i can only achieve that with plastic surgery which means i would never.

If you have a wide frame you could lose weight but there's a limit on how much you can reduce your size as you can't reduce your one structure. You can reduce your thighs and overall weight by doing exercise, but the diet is as important if you want that zone of your body to look better.

Same girl same. I think I'll try losing a few kilos. My waist is already so small I don't believe the extra weight can still be lost from there :imstupid:

Walking helps. A lot of walking. Do at least 5km or 1.5hours of walking every fortnight and there is a high chance it will help reduce your hip size. Walking slim down the thigh and in turn will give an illusion of a smaller hip. You've got to walk enough to feel the sweat. A little jogging is fine but don't run. Just walk or jog.

but all those "hip reducing exercises" are bullshit. you simply cannot change your bone structure.

 

not to bash but some of the above users are seriously wrong... walking won't change your hip size. there is genuinely nothing you can do about your bone structure. it's ya skeleton.

 

better to embrace your wide hips! wide hips make your waist look smaller, which is generally a really sexy look!
