Why Luhan? Colorism?

Anyone else find it offensive when they hear comments like: "Your skin looks better if you have a lighter skintone". I don't get why luhan feels these types of comments are ok especially when he has fans from all over the world with ALL types of skin tones.

What do you guys think?

Q&A at a fansign promoting Nature Republic, right?  Which is a cosmetics company.  I suppose the point here is to tell their fans that they can all "correct" their objectionable-like-Tao's skin tone with makeup, so buy lots. >.>

They're all ridiculously pale tho.

Anyways, people are allowed to have opinions. Plenty of people in Hollywood say tan skin is more beautiful, I don't see how this is any more offensive than that.

My only issue and what makes this offensive is the fact that Luhan refers to dark skin tone as a "problem" in the second last gif. :._.:

In US, people call me a ghost because of my fair complexion. Everyone seems fine about it

i get preferring lighter skin, but it bothers me when people state as fact that there is something wrong with darker skin.

I guess you have never heard a Chinese person speak before. Before you go saying he's racist, which he's not, you should understand that his culture and race has conditioned him in thinking that way as with most Southeast Asians. It would be racist if he said "darker skin tones are ugly/shouldn't count" but he didn't. The Chinese really love pale skin and they think that dating a person with that skin tone is a blessing for their children and families.
