Who here is a full time college student & works full time?

I've talked about this previously but I have really been thinking about taking a break from college because of the lack of stress & my motivation.

I work in an industry that is constantly changing and you must have a flexible schedule to be successful. I don't want to blame my lack of motivation for school on my work but it has a lot to do with it. You see I cannot take the classes that I must take in order to get my degree because of my work schedule so I've been taking classes that I don't really need just to stay enrolled in school and get those credits but I haven't been putting a lot of effort into the coursework cause of lack of interest and motivation.

The fall semester starts in 2 weeks for me and I had to change my entire schedule for the fall semester because I started a new job and now I'm back to the starting point and taking classes I really do not need.

I decided to take 2 online classes and 2 regular classes just to get those 12 credits for the semester, but that means that I'm gonna be gone for pretty much the whole day and when I get home I'm gonna be dead tired and not want to do anything.

My classes are from 7:50AM-9:30AM and then from 7:30PM-8:45PM,( Tuesdays & Thursdays ) and I work from 10am-6:30pm Tues-Sat..

I do not want to take classes on my days off work because I need some me time to relax and rest.

I kinda do not know what to do at this point. I'd like to earn that BA degree but I can't be taking random classes and wasting financial aid, because FASFA only covers 12 semester which is like 6 years of college, after that I'm going to have to start paying out of pocket. I also do not want to be unemployed because looking for a job is hard and finding a job that is rewarding and well paying is almost impossible to do.

Anyone has any advice or recommendations??

I actually did the opposite of what you want to do, I stopped working till I graduated and it worked for me . My brother actually took sometime off school to work but he got so used to work and his financial stability that he almost gave up the idea of going back to school and graduating and told me that it's actually harder to go back. On a happy note he went back after 2 years and took both his BA and Masters degree.

As for you, you should do what makes you more comfortable if you need that job go for it .

Hmm well honestly what's helped me was transferring to a fully online school so that i wouldn't have to attend classes but complete them my own time (though they do have deadlines)

Honestly though i took a break from school and worked/ received training and realized what career path and major i really wanted then when i returned to school full time without a job, i missed working but my school didn't have online classes, night classes and the major i wanted also i wasted like 40 credits taking general classes anyways i transferred to a full online school so i wouldn't be penalized for attendence anymore and i could learn more to my own pace as well as giving my flex time for a full time job again. I'm lucky all my general classes comverted into electives so i'm still in the same amount of time for me to get my BA for a major that i actually like now, business.

Anyways i would say look into transferring online for a flex schedule for a school that has fsfa still or take a break and work and think more about what major or career you want. Good Luck~

Note: fsfa covers you for active semesters so they don't penalize you if you take a break like i did~
